I sware I read somewhere that if you use psychic blast on someone it negates imper,inv, though, and enery shield/deflection for that attack. But my friend says the way it reads it on the powers is that it doesn't go through energy shield/deflection...is this true? Cuz I don't see wht the heck it doesn't. thanks.

Psychic Blast will totally ignore Invulnerability, Toughenss and Impervious.


It will still be affected by Super Senses and Energy Shield/Deflection, as normal.

Yeah it does help, thanks a lot. I just wanted to make sure. Now don't i feel like an A$$.

The key is the PAC description states it ignores any power that reduces damage. Energy Shield doesn't reduce damage but makes it harder to hit. The only powers that reduce damage are Toughness, Invulnerability and Impervious. Escaping damage itself is not reducing it.

Also note that Psychic Blast is a ranged combat action. So it cannot be done B2B (with normal exceptions for flyers).

Psychic Blast is not an action... it modifiys another Action (a Ranged Combat Action) into ignoring damage reducing powers ie Toughness, Invulnerability and Impervious.

I was incorrect stating that PB is a Ranged Combat Action.

Psychic Blast works great with Mind Control to help avoid that nasty Impervious roll...

I hate it when a character gains psycic blast half way down the dial. You usually arrive at this point after recieving base to base damage from an opponent, and your psycic blast is useless. Anyone else ever have this happen?
