From the PAC: "This character must have a clear line of fire to the destination square."
Does the Character have to have line of sight to the destination square before he moves the target or after?
For example:
Say we have Jean Grey(J) and a Thug(T) set up as follows
1
2
3
4
T
J
7
8
9
Can Jean Grey move the Thug to space 1? He can't see that space at the start of the move because the Thug is blocking it but once everything is all done he can see it. You should be able to push someone directly away from you(spaces1-4) instead of through you(spaces 8-9). I would think that being able to see the dest. space is to keep you from putting him around the corner or something.
Alrighty... when moving a figure...the target figure you are moving will not block Line of Fire. So, if you are targeting the Thug to be moved... then he would not block Line of Fire. every other figure will still block Line of Fire though.
alrighty... let me retract what I said and give somehing else:
From the PAC:
Quote
Give this character a close combat action. The attack does no damage. If the attack is successful, move the target figure up to 10 squares in any direction, ignoring hindering terrain and figure bases.
Alrighty... when moving a figure...the target figure you are moving will not block Line of Fire. So, if you are targeting the Thug to be moved... then he would not block Line of Fire. In fact, NO other figure will block Line of Fire though.
I don't know about that Ruling Tsannik. The quote you have from the PAQ is quite specific to the movement action. You MOVE the figure 10 spaces and ignore all figures and hindering terrain. It's Obviously to get around figures having to stop when moving adjacent to an opposing figure or hindering terrain. You still need LOF to the final destination.
I tend to agree with ChromeWeasel...I think "ignoring hindering terrain and figure bases" refers to the movement of the figure over these spaces, not the LoF.
When a figure uses Telekinesis, the object or figure being TK'ed does not block the TK'er line of sight. (Steenbock, May 25, 2002)
This was the first time the issue was ruled upon, and though it's old it's still standing strong. When using TK for movement, whatever is being moved does not affect LoF. Tsannik was right, just taking the long road to get there.
I could have sworn I just read here that you couldnt use a TKd object that a Stealth character was standing on and then bash him with it. If the object that's moved doesnt affect LOF, then you CAN TK an object away from a Stealth figure and bash him with it in the same action.
Unfortunately the ruling was made that since you cannot have LoF to the Stealth figure at the time the attack is declared, you cannot use the object they're on to hit them during the action - you can only move the object away from them and leave them open for someone else to shoot at them.
Whenever someone asks me what I think the most dangerous animal is, i tell them it has to be a shark riding on an elephant, just eating and trampling everything in sight.
I see what you are trying to point out. I've tried hard to think (for about 3 hours) for a better explanation...
All I can say right now is... it's past midnight... I've got to work tomorrow, but this will be something that I'll try and tackle when I'm fresh from a good night's rest...
