Evade:
When a successful close combat attack is made against this character, roll a d6. On a 5-6, the attack is evaded and this character can immediately make a close combat attack as a free action but only to the opposing character that made the attack.
Dodge:
When a successful ranged combat attack is made against this character, roll a d6. On a 5-6, the attack is dodged and this character can immediately make a ranged combat attack as a free action but only to the opposing character that made the attack.
These are two powers that could be very interesting if added to the game IMO. What do you guys think? If you like them, let me know some characters you would give these powers to. If you didn't, what powers would you like to see added to the game if any?

Reason: I copied the same text twice.
I Was A Normal Baby For 30 Seconds. Then Ninjas Stole My Mama.
The first totally free action attack was on Wrecker. They had to make his dial really terrible and jack up the point cost to 230 and make the power one of the most situational power in the history of special powers.
Then the chase superman came in and everyone knows how broken his powers are.
The hand ninjas have mediocre stats and have ti be in hindering w/o action tokens.
Thor just came but I'm sure he's as broken as supes, though scaled down to a lower point cost.
The two least situational powers simply require adjacency and therefore are the most broken.
Off-turn attacks that trigger one out of every 3 chances is not something I can consider regularly assigning to any character.
As a matter of fact, I cannot consider assigning any character free action attacks. One of the principles of the games design is that you have to stop sometime. That's why only 2 types of characters can act for more than 2 successive turns, it's why action tokens exist in the first place. No character should be able to make attacks for free while pushed. It really breaks the game. That's just my opinion. The power could be cool, but I think we have similar powers already on either daredevil or elite honor guard.

The most arrogant think their view is the only normal one.
I remember Mage Knight had "Counterattack" which i loved. Basically you missed a close combat attack against that character, they could immediately make an attack against you.
Attacks are fine. At most you can use Super Strength or Steal Energy.
Contrary to popular belief, I do know what I'm doing
Thanks for the feedback. What do you think about this....

This takes care of the no pushing problem and it would be more difficult to trigger the counter attack.

Well, the new skrull rebel basically has a power as such although you don't have to attack the attacker and you must wait until your next turn. I managed to pull it off twice, hitting with one of the attacks. I guess it isn't that similar, though...
I realise that these powers are powerful and im not saying give 7 clicks of these powers to a character. Basically its a special super senses with an optional retaliation if the roll is a 6. Characters like Batman and Spider-Man could use evade, while a character like Superman could use them both at some point on his dial.

The first one is indomitable and allows you to push once without taking damage. And the second is Sharpshooter and it allows you the ability to make ranged combat attacks against adjacent opposing characters.

Thank you emarr1984 I really appreciate that. Ive been playing since they debuted 10 years ago....BUT ive been in the military the last 5 years...those are cool powers... Indomitable I would give to Machines...Vision, Ultron, Danger, E.V.A, Jocasta, Victor Mancheca(sp?)
while we are at it, can you explain:
The Transporter, Flying Transporter and Dolphin Transporter abilities?
Magneto was Right!
"A touch of overkill, aye there Squinty"- Wolverine to Cyclops after a Mega Optmic Blast.
I think that adding new combat symbols and/or trait types (like the Grenade mechanic for HALO) is the way to go. The main issue with increasing the color scheme is twofold:
1) Color-blindness (complete or red-green) of players, and;
2) Intermediate colors may be difficult to interpret properly, or may be misprinted. In Fantastic Forces, gray powers often appeared brown.
More importantly, is there a power/ability that would be used so often, that it demands another standard power type?

Evade and Dodge are based on battles when a character tries to hit another character he can evade/dodge the attack with a side step and then hit him with a counter attack. As I stated before, any character that is a martial artist or who can use hypersonic speed but cannot deal that much damage and don't have a lot of clicks of life, would greatly benefit from having evade or dodge. I don't think characters should have a lot of clicks with evade or dodge. Maybe a click or two somewhere on their dial would be a nice addition.
Maybe Evade and Dodge could work better as a trait for certain characters instead of a new standard power. Right now though there is Shape Change(which only certain characters have) and Super Senses(which only a few characters should have). I believe adding Evade and Dodge would allow for a wider range of characters to have these abilities. I am also not saying that 80% of the characters in the game should have these abilities, just the ones that display a decent enough ability to evade or dodge and then counter. You could even take out the counter attack bit and just make it evade or dodge on a roll of 6.
You don't even have to make the two separate, it could be
Evade/Dodge: When a successful attack is made against a character that can use this ability, roll a d6. On a roll of a 6, the attack misses.
or
Evade/Dodge: When successfully attacked, character's that can use this power roll a d6. On a 6 the attack misses and if the characters range is 6 or more give a range combat attack as a free action. If the character's range is 5 or less give a close combat attack as a free action. If Evade/Dodge is successful and an attack is made modify attack value -1.
Your idea about new combat symbols instead of standard powers would be just as intriguing to me.
