Best (current) Batman titles by rank! I need your opinion...
Hey I am a long time heroclix and marvel fanboy. In my old age I am starting to get really into Batman and am getting excited to play the new sets coming in the next few months. Can you guys give me your personal preferences by title on what ranks as best.
Batman by Scott Snyder is hands down the best and its the only one I have read...what comes next and I will put it on my read list at my local store. Thanks guys!!
Never take life to seriously, you'll never get out alive.
1. Batman
2. Batman Inc. (I'm putting this here because it's only had one issue so far in the new 52 and for new readers you won't get the full story if you didn't read all the other Morrison stuff before this. But you should still be able to enjoy it. First issue was awesome.)
3. Batman and Robin
4. Detective Comics
5. Don't even bother with anything else.
1. Batman Inc.
- Despite the great fun of Snyder's title, I am far too addicted to the elaborate stylings of Grant Morrison to not rank this title at #1. Every time I read an issue of his comics, including his Batman Inc work, I fell like they are comics made just for me.
2. Batman
- That said, this is a great comic.
3. Batman and Robin
- There are many other times in the history of Batman comics where this title would be good enough to be considered the best Batman comic. Only because of the presence of two other spectacular Batman titles is this comic in third place. This, also, is a great comic.
4-5. Detective Comics/Batman: The Dark Knight
- I read the early issues of these comics and didn't like them. I stopped reading them, so I can't really give any kind of informative opinion on what they are like now. For all I know they are exactly as terrible as I assumed they were, or perhaps they both became really good comics. I don't know.
...now, if we can just get Professor Pyg confirmed.
This was very helpful, but I gotta say the only Morrison Batman title I ever enjoyed was his run on Batman and Robin...soooo good!

Scott Snyder has surpassed Geoff Johns to become my favorite writer and his Batman series is nothing short of amazing! Batman and Robin had a slow start, but has established itself as an excellent Batman title. Damian is easily my favorite Robin. I'm not sure how I feel about Batman Inc. yet, issue 1 was a little weird. I've never read anything by Grant Morrison before, but I'm willing to give it a chance. Detective Comics and The Dark Knight have pretty much been bad from the start. I keep hoping that things will get better, but I'm losing faith with each issue that comes out. And to make things worse, Detective Comics has recently been bumped up $1 cuz they added a supplemental story to the end of the issue.
Guy Gardner solves his problems with a chainsaw and he never has the same problem twice...
Batman is by far the best bat book on the stands. Snyder is a fantastic writer and always at his best when writing about the bat.
Second has got to be Batman and Robin, the relationship between these two characters alone makes this book unmissable.
Detective comics/Batman inc are both great books too, just not as unmissable as the two above.
The Dark Knight is the weakest of the lot by far, the night of owls tie in was actually quite good, unfortunately the rest of the series writing has been average.

I couldn't agree with you more on your choices and the order you have put them in.
And as for the rest of the "Bat Family". In order here are the ones I like. But to be honest in my opinion none of them have been all that great.
1. Batgirl - what can I say I like Barbara back as Batgirl, but this ruins all my hot red head in a wheelchair fantasies.
2. RedHood and the Outlaws - As weird as this has been. I kinda like the team in this book.
3. Birds of Prey - ehh not quite the same, but I am trying to manage through the book.
4. Nightwing - I hate to say it I was soo looking forward to this book, and it has bored me to tears.
5. Batwoman, Batwing and Catwoman - I have just never even bothered to pick them up.
And still I am waiting for a new Desaad figure.....where is the Desaad love?
Court of Owls has been a lot of fun. That said, it doesn't even scratch the surface of what Morrison has done on Batman.
Both stories were about a hidden group tearing down Batman, but Morrison took years, telling an intricate story. Snyder took 5 issues. "Court" just doesn't have the same weight behind it...
