How do you know what ability's you can do with the old heroclix characters without having a card, how do you use them (attacking and defending), and can you mix the old heroclix characters with the new ones?

I assume with powers you mean in regard to traits? True the older stuff doesn't have any cards, but on here in the units area all the Golden Age figs have their traits listed. Kind of a pain if you have a lot of old stuff (which I do mostly), but that works for me usually. As far as mixing characters feel free! I see most tournaments are usually modern age figs mostly. Fun games you can mix and match however you want!

Any figures made prior to the LoSH Starter had no cards and no need for cards. They had no Traits nor Special Powers. So all you needed to do was reference the Powers & Abilities Card, more commonly known as the PAC.

They're the same powers and combat symbols that are on the newer figures.

Same way you do with the new figures. You just need to look at the Powers and abilities card to know what the different colors stand for.

Well the thing is I'm new to the game and I don't even know how to use the new ones I was wondering if you have to always look at the card and use one of your ability's to attack or if there is such thing as just attacking based on range and damage without even using the card.

Yes, you can always make regular close combat and ranged combat actions if you'd rather not use your powers.

You need a copy of the Powers and Abilities Card(PAC). Quebbstar linked it above.

Colored abilities are known as standard powers and are the same on every character.

Silver in the movement slot is always Running Shot.

Gold in defense is always Impervious, things like that.

However, PLEASE, for the love of Shaft, learn how to use the Search feature so you don't end up creating threads about questions that have been asked and answered umpteen times already. You have no idea how many people just mash the [NEW THREAD] button without even looking.
