Adam Warlock (032) can't Outwit Quintessence, just Power Cosmic:

The Disbanded! BFC lets you ignore team abilities (not quite the same, I know, but throwing it out there for you).
Dirk Anger's Insane Leadershp trait also affects team abilities (again, not quite the same but throwing it out there as well).
Adam Warlock (032) can't Outwit Quintessence, just Power Cosmic:
Actually, he can. Read the ability again, it says he can outwit ALL team abilities, though he can only use Outwit again if he counters Power Cosmic. He can counter Quintessence, he just doesn't get to use the second half of the power.
Also, how are people forgetting John Blake from the Dark Knight Rises mass market set? 50 points for instant Power Cosmic/Quintessence shutdown, as well as any other pesky team abilities, plus he comes with the Police TA, Indomitable, and Sharpshooter.
So I guess the real question is:
"Is a team ability classified specifically as 'an ability', or does 'an ability' only refer to combat symbols like Indomitable & Sharp shooter?"

Don't hate the player, hate the game. Or the figures. Or the dice. Or the map...

There are two types of Abilities (page 16 of the latest rulebook on heroclix.com): Combat abilities, which can be countered by outwit (even if they have power-cosmic), and team abilities, which are different.
I guess no one really gave you a concrete answer on your question--skrull-o-jacket, and others that explicitly state that you can outwit team abilities allow you to do so, including power cosmic/quintessance because those team abilities only prevent your powers from being countered. Since team abilities and combat abilities (sharpshooter, flight, etc.) are not powers, they can be outwitted (except for John Blake, who outwits TAs as if they were powers, and powers can't be countered if you have pc/q)
I actually don't believe dissent lets you counter power cosmic/quintessance based on the wording in the units section, as it allows you to counter TAs as if they were powers, and guys with pc/q can't have their powers countered.

The wording in the units section is outdated. Here's the current wording, which does allow countering of PC/Q:

Adam Warlock CAN most Definatley Outwit Quintessence. Its a common misunderstanding because people don't tend to read ALL of what they are given. He gains an extra Outwit against a standard power IF he just happens to outwit Power Cosmic specifically.......so go ahead Warlock....outwit you some Darkseid.
Edit: Ah....i see im the second to correct this. Eh...you can never be told you were wrong to many times. lol
INSANE LEADERSHIP: Dirk Anger can use Leadership. Other characters can't use Leadership. Opposing characters within 4 squares of Dirk Anger can't use team abilities.
