PW ignores all powers when you're able to pull it off.
Battle Fury says you cannot pull off ranged attacks, so no PW.
Not that that's not easy to understand but consider the PW as if it has been outwitted. Same basic effect as an additional/alternate way of looking at it.
I thought Pulse Wave could be done as if it wasn't a ranged attack though? Can't you running shot pulse wave?
PW is a ranged attack. It can be done when adjacent to an opposing figure, because it specifically says it can. Certainly you can Running Shot/Pulse Wave, just as you can Running Shot/Psychic Blast.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
“No matter how subtle the wizard, a knife between the shoulder blades will seriously cramp his style.”
Range Combat Actions lead to Range Combat ATTACKS so I'm thinking you wont be able to Pulse Wave but thats just me. I'd like to see an Orange ruling on this topic.
Wait, how does pulse wave ignore defensive powers? I always found it somewhat useless by the locked damage of 1 and most characters I'm fighting having invulnerability or something. sorry I'm new to heroclix.
I don't have my PAC with me but isn't there something that says if ignoring a game effect would allow line of fire to be drawn then the effect is not ignored? (sorry if I messed it up a bit) but wouldn't battle fury win it then?

You have it backwards.
If ignoring something causes a LoF to NOT be drawn, it isn't ignored.
Imagine a PWer on elevated PWing a grounded Emperor Joker on his Embiggen clicks.
Also, if what you said was true, then Stealth would work against PW.

There's a little clause in pulse wave that says it ignores all game effects of characters caught in the range of PW. That would include super senses, shape change, impervious, energy shield, team abilities, etc.
The damage only becomes one if there is more than one character caught in the attack. So if there's only one character then that character would receive your regular damage

Ok got it! Thanks.
But is that really the only instance in which this clause would take effect?
Another question: does league of assassins ata bypass pulse wave?
Give this character a ranged combat action; halve its range value until the action has been resolved. Draw lines of fire to all characters within range in every direction; these lines of fire are only blocked by walls, blocking and elevated terrain. All game effects possessed or used by other characters with a line of fire drawn to them are ignored until the action has been resolved. At least one opposing character must have a line of fire drawn to it to activate this power.
If ignoring a game effect would cause a character with a line of fire drawn to it to no longer have a line of fire drawn to it, then it is not ignored. If lines of fire can be drawn to two or more characters, this character’s damage value becomes 1 and is locked. Make a single ranged combat attack (even if this character is adjacent to an opposing character) and compare the attack total to the defense value of all other characters with a line of fire drawn to it; each character hit is dealt damage.
I would assume since Pulse Wave says that you are making a ranged combat action. and Battle Fury states you can't make ranged combat ATTACKS. that yes you can give him the action token but he cannot make the attack.
