Sorry for making another MONTH 8 Thread but I did a search and cant' find it. Though I assume this will end up being an "ask your judge" type deal....

ATAs exist outside of particular sets...SO they CAN Be used for month 8? or the Would not based on the current wording.

That aside would any judges care to chime in on how they're going to do this?

You are correct. Unlike objects and feats, ATAs are not associated with any set. So with the usual caveat here of "Ask your judge!" any ATA should be good to go.

Suggested formats are suggested and nt even officially supported by WizKids. The only correct answer when asking about a particular scenario is to ask your judge.

Our Judge has chosen to ALLOW ATAs because they are a game element and not directly associated with a set.

Let's look at the wording:
The suggested format for the Month Eight Event is a 500 point Modern Age
constructed Tournament. All figures must be from Incredible Hulk, Galactic
Guardians and/or Chaos War.

The only mention is figures. No other game elements are mentioned. However it is Modern Age which I guess limits us to Objects and Resources in the current Modern Environment, and ATA's.

So, going strictly by the wording I would say that ATA's are legal, as is the Gauntlet, and Gamma Bomb etc...

After all they could have just as easily said "All game elements must be from...(the 3 sets)" or they could've left out the Modern designation to open it up.

However, with all that said, it is only a SUGGESTED format and you should definitely check with your judge.

I've referred to this current period as the "Good Old Days" of Heroclix, because I really think years from now we will look back on this as the best of times.
The freedom to run events as we choose is a polar opposite of what we had at the year 5 anniversary. Remember week after week after week of sealed during Starro and Galactus?
Remember being forced to run the final on ONE SPECIFIC DATE???
Even worse, remember the dreaded "hiatus?" No new clix? Our biggest complaint now seems to be too much product! It really has force some of us to grow up and realize we can't have it all - and even if we somehow CAN keep up with all the new product, we can't PLAY it all! Just not enought time.

But seriously, given the freedom we enjoy and the vast amount of product to choose from, I really think "these ARE the good old days!"

So, where does that leave the "Infinity Gauntlet" figures, ie The Runner, Gardener etc. They are not technically part of any set. So confusing.....

No, technically they are part of the Infinity Gauntlet set. Since that is not on the list, they cannot be used.

There is no legal or illegal team, regardless of the suggested format. It is completely up to your judge. The official stance is they are suggestions so do whatever you want, even if you want to run the suggested format and said format is vague or nonsensical.

At our venue I am allowing ATAs. I am also allowing the adventure pack items like the dumpster because when the players had asked about them I thought that they where not going to become golden age because they were not tied to a set ether, but in another thread I think Normalview had posted that they are now golden age. I just must have missed when they became golden.

Our venue is doing it all figures must come from Chaos War, Galactic Guardians, and Incredible Hulk. We're also allowing figures from the three fast forces sets that came out with those sets. Resources and special objects may be used from any Modern Age set. 500pts. of course.

Our judge is allowing ATAs cause they month eight says all figures must be from those 3 sets. ATAs are not figures so they are allowed however, he is not allowing any of the fast forces.
