INEVITABLE BETRAYAL: When this click is revealed for the first time in a game, stop turning the dial and choose Dr. Doom or Kang. For the rest of the game, even if this power is lost, this character now possesses "standard attack symbol" and if you chose Dr. Doom, this character can use Outwit, or if you chose Kang, this character can use Probability Control.
Basically, Chaos King blasted Kang/Doom with a pulsewave. Since pulsewave causes you to ignore their INEVITABLE BETRAYAL power, when, if ever does the Kang/Doom controller get to pick Kang or Doom for the latter half of the dial?
Pulse wave only ignores game effects "until actions resolve" so after actions resolve, since that power had been shown, Doom/Kang lose Duo Attack and the player gets to choose Doom or Kang at that point.
a more accurate answer would be simply, they dont use the power. assuming the pulsewave damage clix them past inevitable betrayal, you would never have activated it. And you would continue to retain the duo attack ability. If you were to be healed, after the pulsewave damage, then you would stop at inevitable betrayal and then choose a character.
But you would not stop on this click as PW would ignore the power, just as it ignores the stop power on the white lanterns. Also, according to the logic presented on one of the Banner figs (that said if he takes two damage and this power is showing afterward) that pulsewave would ignore that power even if showing after the end of the action, it would seem to apply to this case as well.
the fact that it says even if this power is lost means it has to happen either in the middle of a pulse wave or after the pulse wave is done, because it would be impossible to heal to that power, because it specifies when that power is activated "the first time the power is revealed", so even if it were to show up again at another point it couldnt be used because that click on the dial had been shown at a previous point in the match

that is incorrect.
Pulse Wave
Quote
Give this character a ranged combat action; it can use ,(strange symbols), and halves its range value until the action has been resolved. Draw lines of fire to all characters within range in every direction, including at least one opposing character.; these lines of fire are only blocked by walls, blocking and elevated terrain. All game effects possessed or used by other characters with a line of fire drawn to them are ignored until the action has been resolved. At least one opposing character must have a line of fire drawn to it to activate this power. If ignoring a game effect would cause a character with a line of fire drawn to it to no longer have a line of fire drawn to it, then it is not ignored. If lines of fire can be drawn to two or more characters, this character's damage value becomes 1 and is locked. Make a single ranged combat attack (even if this character is adjacent to an opposing character) and compare the attack total to the defense value of all other characters with a line of fire drawn to it; each character hit is dealt damage.
pulse wave ignores all game effects of characters that have a line of fire drawn to them. so if i use successfully draw a line of fire and pulse wave doom/kang it is as if he has no powers or abilities for the duration of pulse wave, And if i do enough damage, with pulsewave to hit you past the "inevitable betrayal" special power on to Clix #7 or higher the "inevitable betrayal" power would never activate.
The wording "For the rest of the game, even if this power is lost" is there to make clear that once "inevitable betrayal" is activated even after doom/kang is no longer on this that specific clix, or if the ability is outwitted that the effects of this ability are still in effect.
if ever a power is meant to override pulsewave it will specifically have the wording "this power cannot be countered or ignored"

This is correct.
If the power is ignored, for whatever reason, and they click past it, then it never activates. But if the power reappears later (say they are copying the Fantastic Four TA and Reed is KO'd), then it would activate.

Thats pretty handy.

That seems contrary to this, from the Player's Guide:
"Game effects which have you make a choice at a specific
occurrence may be ignored, but if the power is being ignored
when the choice would be made, this choice is made
immediately after the effect is no longer ignored. "
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

This would come into effect only if the power were still showing.

Why? It doesn't say that as far as i can see.

Quebbster, could ya'll consider the PG entry sited and it's relevance to this? It seems, on the surface, to directly address this question.
