I'm going to describe this week's Thanos event at Castle Perilous books and games in Carbondale IL, For obvious reasons I will not be posting my squad.
This week as we compete for Thanos the rules are fairly simple, build a 500 point modern age team. At the beginning of the game each player KO's one opposing character, scoring full points for the K.O.
So, what would you play? Just interested, I've designed my team and am very confident with how it will perform.
It has been suggested that 5 Mindless one's would be a very difficult team to beat in this format. At least that has been the talk around the venue. I doubt anyone will play it though, just because now everyone halfway expects it.

So I pluck one away and now you are running at 400 vs my 450.
I can also throw John Blake on there and outwit the Mystics on the Mindless Ones and blast away with superior mobility with R'Amey and all the Johnny Quicks.
I hadn't considered John Blake, Good call, but I'll say this too, Damage reducers in this format seem to hold great value, also there are many other variables.

Unless your opponent is running a bunch of these with John Blake, then Damage Reducers mean nothing:

(Special) Detain for Questioning: Opposing characters subtract 1 from their d6 rolls when breaking away from GCPD officer.
(Defense) Minion: Following Orders: When a higher point friendly character with the Police keyword uses Leadership, GCPD Officer is considered adjacent to that character.
My team is built around mind controlling sin with garbage characters to dish out some heavy damage. If they decide to get rid of Her you will have mastermind abuse with Bane who has monster keyword so you can MC him with mole man.
With all the swarm teams in these games I am sure Cypher will be very useful.
If your opponent does not kill ultron the drones next to bruce and tony will have 19 defense mind control smoke cloud free movement.
