I have been wondering this over the past three days so now I might as well get it over with.
My friend and I have been playing stealth/Bats Ally like this.........you can't attack a person that is next to an item hindering terrain or bulding with a ranged attack NO MATTER WHAT. It must always be close combat.
However im starting to think thats not the way it works because if it is then thats one annoying and cheap power.
Could somebody please fix this problem. Thanks a lot!
P.S.If you could show evidence like the page of the FAQ its on or the sentence on the Power Card that fixes this problem that would be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot!
Well, perhaps to clarify a bit. You use the same rules for Bats Ally as you do for the Stealth ability. Which basically states, if a figure has stealth, and you attempt to draw a line of fire to him, and that line of fire passes through any kind of hindering terrain, (and keep in mind this includes objects, tree sqaures, and other figs), then you cannot draw lof to that stealthed figure. Therefore, you can take no action against that figure unless you are directly adjacent to him. The nice thing about the bats ally ability is the ability can't even be outwitted. Yes, this may seem powerful, and in many ways it is. Of course, some good ol' supes team ability will cancel that out no problem. Also, keep in mind that the line of fire you draw to the fig has to pass through hindering terrain in order for stealth to work. As such, merely standing next to a building may not necessarily give them stealth. Anyway, hope this helps.
Lead me not into temptation, just point me in the general direction and I'll find it myself.
If the line of fire to batman hits hindering terrain then the shot can't happen. Plain and simple rules of stealth, they're so common that I didn't even check the FAQ, it's just how it says it on the card.
One minor note: If the attacker is on a rooftop, then the Bat-Stealth figure must be standing directly on the hindering terrain/object for the ability to function, since elevated attackers ignore all grounded hindering terrain except for the target's square.
Whenever someone asks me what I think the most dangerous animal is, i tell them it has to be a shark riding on an elephant, just eating and trampling everything in sight.
