I'd say that's a decent indication that they really did draw in new readers. ("Prospect" buyers would have sold by now.)

The only one I can think of off the top of my head is Animal Man #1. The last time I looked they were going for about $20.00. I know a couple of the other titles go for a decent amount.

Well my Batman #1 variant sold for $40+ recently in various listings on Ebay. Everything is eh. The Action Comics #1 first print variant is going for around $30. My regular first print Justice League #1 is going for $10. My Green Lantern #1 first print variant is going for $3 .

How can you tell what printing a comic is? Does it say it somewhere?

There's a five digit code within the white space near the bar code. The first three digits of this code are the issue number. The fourth is the variant number, and the fifth is the printing number (I believe that's the order). So, if your Batman comic is marked 00111 then you've got a non-variant first printing of Batman #1.

Really? I just bought a Suicide Squad #1 off the shelf. Love the Suicide Squad, I hope this series is good too.
