I'm going to a tournament and the restrictions are 500 point modern, and every figure must have a cape. I'm lost on what to build honestly, and need some advice. I've considered two piece brick teams and multiple smaller figures but I'm worried about only running with two pieces on the bricks, and the smaller figures getting swamped by brick team. As well, I know the gauntlet will be in play by everyone seeing as the one team I know of has it which means everyone is going to use one. (The team is two Lucy at 75, Man-Beast, Princess Projectra and one other who I'm unsure of with the gauntlet on a Lucy for some reason.)
Lucy has the Gauntlet because she's awesome. Make no mistake.
Capes only? I'd be going at it with AvM Thor with the Stupid Glove for 240. Pick a 150 point Superman and then use a 100 point Supergirl. No supporting powers, really, but I like the beatstick force I'm looking at there.
Smaller figures (in the secondary attack range) don't generally lose to a single brick unless that brick thoroughly outclasses them. (Hawkeye and Green Arrow vs. a Fully-Gloved Unspoken, for example) Out-Actioning is a big problem for ultra-powered figures.
In my case, if I didn't play Thor, I'd play a Full-Gauntlet IG Adam Warlock at 490.
"It is a fool's prerogative to utter truths that no one else will speak." "Prove you have the strength and courage to be free."
Thor Odinson (160 pts free attack against people of 75 pts or more with full IG) he works very well, super girl FF 100 pts, scarlet witch 50, superman 150 :P
Lucy has the Gauntlet because she's awesome. Make no mistake.
Oh, I know she's great. It's just giving her the glove makes her a massive target and her dial isn't very deep. When I play her, I like the fact that she's a threat but not the biggest one on the field so the opponent has to decide between trying to stop Lucy or getting shot up by Eradicator and Cyborg Superman for instance.

I was actually considering using a gloved Unspoken. I love what he can do when you corner things with him, but 276 is a big investment. Just have to watch out for Pulse Wave.
And thanks guys, this has given me a few ideas. I hope to hear more and I'll throw up some team ideas when I get a few more hammered out.
