I just started reading comics and have purchased and read all of superman new 52 and swamp thing....I'm trying to get some marvel books and was wondering which spiderman I should start reading. If some people could tell me the difference between his newest titles that would be great, that way I could decide which to pick from basic summaries.

I dont knopw didly about superhero comics. I read mostly vertigo titles and locke and key, and the walking dead. I did however just read spider island collection and thought it was pretty good and my friend suggested reading the main spiderman larc that came from.

Haven't followed Spider-Man in years, but I can offer some other suggestions:

Hickman's Fantastic Four run (superhero comics done right)

Parker's run on Hulk (Rulk - contrary to popular belief, Rulk IS a character, and in Parker's hands he becomes Marvel's military version of Hellboy)

Parker's run on Thunderbolts (just a party of time-traveling insanity)

Being a spider-man reader is tough. There's a lot of stories that just make no sense and are bad.

Spider-island was a good arc.

Ends of the Earth was a good arc.

Both are recent.

I would pick up Avenging Spider-man, it's kind of like the current version of Marvel Team-up and I enjoyed the fact that there's barely any arcs in it.

Dan Slott (writer) on Spider-Man is what you're after for Spidey.

Trades or the current Amazing Spider-Man issues now leading up to issue 700 and what is supposed to be a dramatic event...

Also, read Daredevil. I don't think you'll regret it.

Ignore what other people are telling you.

First thing you should read is New X-men by Grant Mirrison. Start there than, read Avengers dissemebled.
