I've been trying to figure out a way to get the great uncommon M10th Magneto promoted into the overpriced rare M10th Magneto, therefore solving the promoted Mags' only problem and making him a beast at 113 points. Donald Blake exists primarily to keep Magneto on his first click of health to make sure that the rare Mags comes in at his 250 point click. Donald Blake can heal others of course and, if some extra damage is needed, he can AE into FFCW Thor for three clicks worth of Thor and Thor's damage.
Scarlet Witch is self-explanatory but with a general priority for making sure Magneto hits his ranged attacks and gets promotion tokens. At 50 points she doesn't have her TK but this team isn't super reliant on TK and, if promoted, Mags will have loads of TK.
The 100 point Dark Phoenix is a steal in a vacuum but in a team designed around keeping one person safe/healed an imposing character like Dark Phoenix with loads of range, targets, damage, and HSS can be perfect for disruption and interference until Mags can get promoted. If the enemy ignores her and rushes just to kills Magneto, use Phoenix's insane power set to do some hefty damage. Pulse Wave on her special power is great here as well.
The reason I say this is friendly is that I wouldn't play it in a competitive environment where the Gauntlet is your ticket to advancing.
What do you guys think? I think that M10th rare Magneto is a great dial and I think the uncommon Magneto is fantastic for his points and more than capable of completing his promotion.
I really like this team. I think you have your basis covered really well. You can always use phoenix to lock up some figures if Magneto is getting picked on. Good 300 point team!
Surprisingly good 300 point team, though I think a team utilizing the JL52 FF Flash would give it severe headaches. Flash is going to be incredibly hard for your team to kill, with his ESD and 4+ Super Senses your all-range team is going to have one hell of a time taking him down, all the while he's punishing you with his far-superior maneuverability. If played on a theme team where he gets map roll, I think your team is doomed.
