So far, when all my opponents see the:

"MINION: REMOTE COMMAND: When a friendly character named Iron Man, Tony Stark, or Ultron is within 8 squares, Iron Man Drone can be given a move action as a free action, but modifies its speed value by -2."

they think "6 move run shot". Nope.

Team:
CW Ultron, IM Drones x2, IH Leader. 400 points.

Killer moves very few see coming:
1) Ultron RS.
2) Leader TKs IM Drone1 adjacent to Ultron.
3) IM Drone1 shoots with RCE.
4) IM Drone1 "free action" moves carrying Ultron to safety.
5) IM Drone2 "free action" moves carrying Leader to safety.
6) Repeat steps 4 & 5 until all cleared of tokens.

You can't a character more than one of the same type of free action per turn. Sorry mate.

And nothing in his post required him to do that. Sorry mate.

This would not apply to what the OP had mentioned.

I have also been up to IM Drone hijinks lately as well.

The Drones are perfect for the maneuvers you describe, as it truly gives you the upper hand on positioning. Move around every single turn? Yes please!

What truly balances the Drones in my opinion is their point cost, and their "glass jaw". If they get plinked for several damage, you've lost most of their efficacy.

I played this 800 point team last weekend and cleaned up. It was so good I felt dirty at the end of the day:

Shy as a theme team, but very potent. There is a lot of free movement in this team.

I guess I interpreted the repeat steps 4 & 5 as in repeat in the same turn.

I played an Ultron with Ultron Drone/Iron Man Drone team a few weeks ago. Took out a team of Worldbreaker and SR Thanos (150), and only lost one Ultron Drone, then took out a team of 10th Phoenix (300) and 10th Thor (200) and lost no figures. Granted, my rolls were very good, and my opponent missed some rolls, however the ability to free action move, then use RCE is amazing. It's better than a full move Running Shot power.

Throw an AVM Tony Stark in there for more fun. Breaks your robot theme, but gives everyone he's next to a +1 to defense and his perplex makes the drones deadly and Ultron ridiculous. Even if he never turns into Iron Man he's worth his 50 points on this team.

The Drones are the best minions designed, to-date. The Iron Man Drones are my first choice, as they can easily heal to full via Regen.

The IM Drones also make an excellent, slightly-underpowered version of classic Iron Man (even if the Avengers keyword is missing).

Repaint them so that they look like the drones from the anime and then repaint an Iron Man to look like the Dio armor

So basically you have both Iron man and Ultron for drones to activate your special.
Assuming you keep your drones adjacent to both Tony Stark and Bruce wayne they should be operating at 19 Defense.

I would use the perplex from Cypher and Tony to keep Sin's Defense values high.

Because your drones are lugging around Jewel Kryptonite they can use a power action to make Sin shoot for them. She has a much higher attack value and damage value than drones. They can also use smoke cloud to keep her in stealth.

With Cypher you can really abuse team abilities with your drones. That is all.

That is brutal.

Played my 300 point team tonight. It was indeed brutal. Went 3-0
Was not much anyone could do about the drones. Played against two Future Foundation teams and a Phoenix team. Time to retire that team to competitive games only.
