Design a 400pt team with these figures to help a rookie
Hello I am kind of new to clix and don't have a venue really close to me or friends around who play so it is hard to practice and come up with really competitive teams. I am going out of town on satruday to play at a venue where I almost always lose. I have fun but I would like to be competitive this time. I will list some of my pieces and see if you can help me build a good team that will really compete.
I know this is a lot to ask but I need help
As you can see I have almost every fantastic 4 keyword and TA piece from modern age.
My initial thought is to do something with fan 4 theme with something like this
CW 101 fantastic
IH ghost rider
IH Spider-man
GG 104 Spider-man
The idea is I get theme plus everyone has fant 4 team ability which leads to them using mr fantastics future foundation TA
FUTURE FOUNDATION: Friendly characters possessing the Fantastic Four team ability can't use that team ability. Instead, they can use the following team ability: FUTURE FOUNDATION TA: When a character using this team ablility takes 2 or more damage from an opponent's attack, give the attacking character an action token after actions resolve. If you can't, deal them 1 unavoidable damage.
Then also have the spider-man pieces wildcard the mystics from GR. So 3 of the 4 pieces would be mystics and also have the Future foundation TA which would lead to at least 1 dmg and a token every hit and maybe 2 dmg. I just wish bombastic bag man wasn't retired he could wc mystics and use the special ta.

if u really want to win you're probably not going to do it without gauntlet. I guess your best shot is to build around a close combat brick. If it were me I would play worldbreaker at 350 with cheap support (sw at 50 if possible) but another option is dormammu at 250 with WL flash. The real problem though if you really want to win is that you don't possess the meta pieces to make it happen. If I were you I would first invest in buying a gauntlet (should be $30ish maybe cheaper) and later when you can afford it a scarlet witch ($25+). Just a suggestion.
Thank you guys for the help. I will consider your ideas and appreciate the input. This is why I don't like the gauntlet, I don't like the idea of having something like that that is essentially required to win. Then when you do use it the person you are against has it too. So now to me it cancels each other out when pretty much every one uses it. Now every force basically just has to make room for the points for something you know your opponent is going to have to so 50pts or whatever and no advantage over the other guy.
Yes that is why they are making the utility belt and another (currently unknown) resource dial for the fear itself OP. It adds a greater element of strategy when choosing what to play and provides different benefits and is therefore no longer cancelled out by another of its type. If you really don't want the gauntlet I would participate in as many of this venues NML tourneys as possible so you can have a fully stacked resource dial at your disposal.
Even without the cancellation will the belt be something that for the points you would be stupid not to use if you could. I mean if you designed a piece with a special power that did what the gauntlet does it would add way more pts to the characters cost than the guantlet does so for the pts it makes sense to run guantlet every match. Will it be the same with the belt? I am glad for the variety but if its another case of for the points you can't afford not to use it I don't like that as much. But either way thank you for helping a rook like me.
P.S. would you recommend going to NML at two different venues each month, or would that give me no advantage over just going to a single venue?
Ok so first we don't know too much about the utility belt the dial for it is in the units section under NML. The only known attachment is something that allows you to use smoke cloud and then deal 1 unavoidable damage to players occupying those squares. The special powers seem good but there's nothing like ultimate god hood so far. There are also numbers on the dial whose current purpose are unknown at the time. I would recommend going to as many NMLs as you can because not only will it give you multiples of each attachment to put on the belt ( you remove each attachment after use) but it will also allow you to compete for the grand prize twice.
That would be cool to do, however it seems like people pull out all the stops and I won't probably be able to compete with them with what I have now. That is unless it is a Batman only tournament in which I suppose I could end up getting the meta from the new sets.

find yourself a CWFF scarlet witch and you are good
this is your best option since you don't have a gauntlet
m10 ironman is a gauntlet nerfer but you really need that cwff scarlett witch to make this team competitive and chances are other players will use this team too or similar to it
w/ the figures you have I would go with dormammu and WL flash
but dormammu takes a lot of practice to get use to and i usually use him w/ x2 cwff scarlet witch
Scar witch isn't an option for me right now. For the dormammu team would white flash be better than 100 pt dark phoenix with a 50 pt piece with a nice sp or trait from gsx?
Dark phoenix and dorm have a shared keyword so when she goes down he heals 2.
There seem to be some interesting gsx pieces for less than 50 but I just got the CUR and haven't tested any yet. I was looking at

If white flash is better could you let me know why. I guess I just don't see what makes him more useful so I know how to use him.
Yep I agree however I would be inclined to use his power on cable or WL flash. Flash is the clear choice when heralding galactic but cable might be more effective without POwer cosmic.
As a somewhat inexperienced player would I be better off with dormy and flash, or M10 iron and something else. Also the last 6 games I played there the guantlet only showed up in 3 of them.

X-men fun. Dark phoenix is fantastic, as is Psylocke. Wolvie's healing trait is pretty boss, and he's nigh unkillable if he picks up the briefcase. Cyclops' trait leadership is very helpful, and his X-men TA boost is always good.
Also- I'd just like to say that I resent the "you can't win without a gauntlet" mindset. It's not really true. There are plenty of people at my venue that do well without it. Admittedly, it may give a slight advantage, but in the end the games will still come down to teams, luck and you skill at playing
Really if you don't take your own gauntlet your at a mild disadvantage to moderate disadvantage. We can go round and round on the gloves power level. But its an undeniable power boost in any form. Its meant to be.
No gauntlet M10 iron man and DP all the way. Even out the field.
