Today we kick off a new series that highlights great venues around the world, where members of HCRealms congregate and play the game we all love, HeroClix!
We play HeroClix on Wednesday nights beginning at 6:30 pm. There is a mailing list and I (SLVRSR4) send out a weekly email reminding people the build rules and scenarios for each week and I also highlight things that happened in the previous week. I also post events on HCRealms.com, Midwestgaming.info, Facebook, and last but not least the Wizkids event system.
The slogan of Fair Game is “Where Fun & Family Meet” and it couldn’t be a more accurate phrase. At Fair Game we take players with many different experiences and from all walks of life and we make them part of one big gaming family. Our players play such games as Magic: The Gathering, War Machine, World of Warcraft TCG (which pulls players in from out of state even), and of course…HeroClix. The success of the store is in no small part to our excellent owner/operator pair of Josh and Eric (Pictured). They both pour themselves into making sure that we are happy and taken care of and to ensure that we have plenty of space to play our games. They are well versed in most of the games that they carry and even have well over a hundred games in the store that you can walk right in off the street and demo. Eric even gets in on the action and plays HeroClix (among other games) with the players.
For Heroclix we have players that range in age from 6-60 and I am proud to boast a strong female attendance for our clix games as well. They’re no pushovers either. They can hang with (And often beat) the big boys. We are a very relaxed gaming group for our Wednesday night games and have varied and creative scenarios. Each of our players can even get in on the mix and create their own scenarios for the week of their birthday. The venue is fully prize supported and doesn’t charge entry fees for our Wednesday games. We also hold higher end competitions for the players looking for a more competitive environment every couple of months on Saturdays with prizes that include convention exclusives and colossals. Of course all players are invited to both Wednesday and Saturday games, but no matter your play style, we have a HeroClix game for you.
Nice to see a good (semi)local group! I play on the southside of Chicago, so I may have to venture up that way and play a few games. Weds night is my group's casual clix night, so I am sure I could sway some people into making the trip!
