Here is the situation:
FACTS
Opposing character has 7 range and Pulse Wave.
I have one character adjacent to the opposer and another character that has Perplex and is 4 squares away from the opposing character.
QUESTION:
If I use Perplex on the range of the opposing character, does the Pulse Wave still ignore the perplex when he activates it?
MY GUESS ON THE ANSWER:
If I were to try and perplex attack/defense values, the Pulse Wave would obviously ignore the perplex as it is within the 4 range (7 halved, rounded up)
However, since I am perplexing range, the effect on the perplex stays outside the Pulse Wave range, because the Pulse Wave character has to go through the whole replace with the halved value (From 7 to 4) and then the modifier (from 4 to 3) BEFORE Pulse Wave checks who is within the range of the blast.
You are correct, the character would not have his perplex ignored until after he is a Target at which point he would be outside the range.

I'm actually thinking on using it on my own Pulse Waver, in those cases where the range is actually too much to isolate a single enemy. I never thought about perplexing range on PW before this thread.

Is the same true for Probability control? Meaning I can't have the the Pulse Wave-er re-roll the attack roll unless he / she is outside the blast zone?
