Here's a game to think about. You can choose 5 characters regardless of point value to field in a free for all game. The stipulation is there can only be 1 of your figures on the board to start the game. At the beginning of the game you roll a 6-side to determine how many turns pass before the next figure is allowed to join in and what ever that number is, is when the others can join. With each player rolling for turns in which they can bring other figures onto the field, there can be anywhere for 1 turn to 6 turns (Nasty) before another figures can join in.
Who would you field and in what order?

Murphy's Law:
If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.
Super Skrull-Maybe the Skrull Ability would work enough to actually have someone waste an action or something. At the very least, he is a running shot 4 point damage machine on the first click
Vet Thor-Just too good to pass up
Savage Hulk-Hulk smashy, smashy
Thanos-High stats throughout
LE Superman (if outdoors map).
Otherwise, probably go with vet Juggernaut at the end. He keeps invulnerability for a long time, awesome starting AV and damage and should be able to do some good overall damage. I think the Invulnerability will keep him going on the last round.
My roommate and I played a simalair style game to this last night. 1000 pt. build total, but only one figure on the board at the time. V Thor was amazing. His Running Shot really kept the game in my favor and managed to take out four of his guys.
1. XP Elektra. Try to Running Shot stealth! Huge damage and attack potential.
2. V Annihilus. Lots of Invulnerability and RS
3. V Thor. Everything Annihilus does, but a step further.
4. Super-Skrull. RS, great damage, loads of Inv., and Super-Strength/Plasticity combo.
5. V Doomsday. I don't know why I am picking him. It's a stupid choice, really, but I like the guy. Big damage no matter how you slice it. Lots of Impervious and lots and lots of life. Seems he'd only be stoppable on elevated terrain or against a Phaser or HSSpeedster.
Long live Veteran Rogue!!! Huzzah!
That's my opinion. You can get over yourself or you can live your whole life being wrong.
