still, i agree that a doombot would not obey Richards
in fact, if a doombot is seperated from DocDoom and all other Doombots and Kristoff its supposed to take on the personality and memories of the real Dr.Doom, so if you arent battlinganyone whith doom/doombat they *should* be AEs (and then should be 100 points more)
Originally posted by rcoperich Hmm, I disagree with the use of a Doombot. Dr. Doom and Mr. Fantastic are AE's aren't they?
First, let me say, I totally agree with you. I think from a purist's perspective that's lame and he should use a Spider-man team instead of Doom team. If the comics were anything like Heroclix, Doombots would totally be running rampant everywhere.
On the other hand, it's not completely outside the realm of possibility that the FF could have defeated the Doombot in an earlier encounter and Reed re-wired it to serve his family. After all, doesn't he have a ton of Doom toys in the Baxter building (like a shrinking ray?).
I understand from a purist point of view that, yes, a Doombot would NOT work with the FF. Reed would, however, have one to know what he's fighting and to be able to tell them apart from the real McCoy (and I don't mean the Beast).
So what if I replace the Doombot with Experienced Wasp? I get a taxi with a free movement out of it...
I like the idea of the team, but it's going to suffer from one serious problem - low attack values. There are some nines, and one ten, but anyone with even a 17 defense is liable to cause the team fits.
I'd probably drop down the human torch to a rookie and try to get the Thing to the vet level if possible. Now if you keep the Doombot in (which I'm neutral on this one), you could probably drop the invisible woman down to a rookie. The benefit of this is that she gets defend at a value of 18 vs. 17 and later on the dial with an exp version. The downfall is one less taxi. The upside is that Human Torch will have a defense of 20 (21 in hindering terrain) against ranged combat.
I'd try to have 2 people with an attack of 10, though. I like Medusa in there as well. I've actually successfully used her a few times now and she's done well. Yes, her 9 attack isn't the best, but after locking up a couple of people (for you, should she-hulk and thing charging on one or two figures), you could fly her in close to do her incapacitate action.
I think this would be a fun team to play, though maybe a little undersized for a 500 point game. The main key I can see, though, is don't be afraid to push everyone except the rookie invisible girl (if you use her). Do it at least once. So that when (if) one of your figures is KOed, that it isn't a wasted team ability and that everyone will be put on their starting click (hopefully) or at least healed up to keep them in the game longer.
It should also be noted that with six Blue rings and one Silver ring, this team will look extremely soothing and easy on the eye compared to those garish combinations of Reds and Yellows and Blues...
It's really fun to play the entire FF, I'm just one figure away from having this team myself (She-Hulk).
