I tried searching but nothing came up. (I can't get anything to show up past the beginning of the month, actually...)
If Kang has 2 tokens, will giving him a power action to use Timeline Reset prevent a token from being placed on him after the action's resolution?
In other words, does the MoE TA check if a token or 1 damage is applied for the action upon the action being given or its resolution?
TIMELINE RESET: Once per game, give Kang a power action. Remove action tokens from all friendly characters that are Kang's point value or less. Characters that already took a non-free action this turn can't take another.
MASTERS OF EVIL When a character using the Masters of Evil team ability has two action tokens on it, it may still be given a non-free action. If you do, deal it one unavoidable damage after the action resolves. At the end of your turn, do not remove action tokens from a character that used this team ability this turn.
I know there was a popular strategy for IG Month 8 involving Dr. Dang composed of this Kang and the GGCTD Dr. Doom, and I thought the Timeline Reset allowing a merge on the same turn that it was used was a big part of it.
I don't think he ends up with a token when he uses timeline reset. I believe tokens are placed at the beginning of an action since warbound and edward nigma require adjacency at the beginning, not end of the action. I believe it is place token, do action, resolve pushing.
I dis agree, tokens are given at the end of the action. I think it is the last thing that happens before resolution.
I believe he will recieve the token, and it will stay like normal.
I think he will still take one unavoidable regardless of tokens.

I was wrong, I think what I thought is how it used to be, but I'll double check that as well for my own peace of mind. Here you go from the rulebook:
Resolving an action includes resolving any free
actions or game effects that action allows followed
by applying action tokens and then pushing
damage to each character that received a second
action token during that action. A character can
never be given more than one
You assign the action w 2 tokens, remove all tokens, give him a token, take the damage.
I was mistaken, I forgot that the Tokens come off of Kang as well for Timeline Reset. I'm in the boat that he would not receive a token, but would take the 1 Unavoidable.

Reason: Forgot Kang's Tokens are removed with his SP *doh!*
Don't believe in yourself, believe in me who believes in you! Set your sights for the sun!

it should work like this:
1. Kang has 2 tokens
2. Kang uses the MoE TA to take a power action to activate Timeline Reset
3. Timeline Reset happens and resolves, removing the 2 tokens from Kang and his buddies.
4. After the action resolves, Kang is given an action token.
5. The MoE check comes in "Did Kang use the MoE to take a power action?" - Yes he did, so he's dealt 1 unavoidable damage.

Before using the special power, he does have two action tokens. Normally he couldn't take a non-free action, so he has to use that bolded part. And since he used that bolded part, the ball is now rolling on this TA and it will finish out normally.
And for the record, the unavoidable damage comes after actions resolve. So the correct order is:
Assign the power action.
Remove tokens.
As action resolves, give Kang a token (since he now has none).
Deal 1 unavoidable damage from TA now that the action has resolved.
