On the opening page of hcfl it says if you prevent a character from using a power that would cause damage you get a dfd. Which turning off hypersonic keeps flash from attacking this turn. Also in fle I know people have been picking up dfds for outwitting my charge and running shots. Is that a difference between the leagues?
I know that tvk outwitted my charge and scored a dfd when spiderman was still able to attack in our last game.

the complete wording is
Defend [DFD]: A character earns a DFD when though the use of a power, ability, team ability, trait or feat that character a) causes an attack made by an opposing character to not succeed or b) prevents an opposing character from using a power, team ability, trait or feat that would deal damage to a friendly character or c) prevents an opposing player from making any attack. If you earn 10 DFD's, you character can promote to the next level or purchase a new feat (subject to Referee's approval)
The part I am referencing is c
c) prevents an opposing player from making any attack.
A and B I have never seen that must have changed in recent years (I have not looked at those rules because I didn;t know they have changed)
If we ask the main forum we will get an answer but as its worded now I think you are right.
