As I have seen so many times, another round of hasty rulings have been made, without enough thought being made. Now, as a result, even MORE rulings will have to be made.
Example: A ruling has been made that enhamcement does not contribute an extra click of damage when a range attack is targeting a wall, object or friendly figure. The reasoning is that Enhancement states "opposing figure" in the description.
I assume that the "friendly figure" part is refering to PW and EE. So now we are left wondering, do you deliver 1 click of PW to all friendly figures, and 2 to the enemy? Is enhancement simply unuseable with these powers if a friendly will be hit? Furthermore, a ruling now needs to be issued on B/C/F, because it also states "opposing figure" in the rules. Thus you cannot use wolverine to slice open a wall. Gee, how many times has he done that in comics, movies, cartoons?
It's time to face reality. 24 pages of FAQ's justify a reprinting of the Rules and the PAC. I'm ready for a new edition. This rules set is old, tired and whipped. Powers like Stealth, Perplex, Outwit, Mind Control, and others that show up on forums on a weekly [dare I say daily] basis need a major overhaul. Its not hard to identify and omit the lines that create the confusion.
D@mn, Manchine, that was cold. I understand HC just fine and the FAQ does absolutely nothing for me except reinforce the notion that their rules team is shooting blindly in the dark. They are so adamant that they never wrote a rule incorrectly or poorly worded it, only that we cannot fathom their intent, thus a 20+ page FAQ to "clarify" what was allegedly already in the rules to start with. I was actually looking forward to the first FAQ, hoping it would streamline gameplay and clear up a few ambiguous and confusing wordings, but now with two out in a month's time I dread to see what they "clarify" after Cosmic Justice.
Whenever someone asks me what I think the most dangerous animal is, i tell them it has to be a shark riding on an elephant, just eating and trampling everything in sight.
Yes they need a new rulebook. But the New FAQ did clear up some rough spots. Enhancement, Mastermind, Timing at the begining of turn, and HSS Knockback on charge.
FAQ's come out once a month. This is a new game its almost a year and half old. Even in Warhammer this happens all the time. You should see the FAQ's for that.
I am glad for the new FAQs. Although I would happly pay $10 of 6 months to see an updated book published, with slight clarifications/updates made online here and there.

From the FAQ:
Walls
Characters with Blades/Claws/Fangs may destroy a section of wall if the damage rolled is 3 or more.

I'd like a new edition too, but I don't think the FAQ is harmful by any means . . .
This game is slowly evolving from it's "Beer & Pretzels", "gateway to higher games" birth into what we want.
