With the new rules regarding plasticity, I was wondering if someone would have to succeed on two break away roles against Ultimate Clayface's Suffocate? The new rules state that characters can't automatically break away, as does Clayface's white power. So do the new rules make Suffocate a less powerful ability or more?
Quote
Suffocate: Ultimate Clayface can use Plasticity. Opposing characters adjacent to Ultimate Clayface can't automatically break away and can't ignore Ultimate Clayface for movement purposes. When an adjacent character fails to break away from Ultimate Clayface, it is given an additional action token.
Clayfaces power pretty much just reads like this now (using the 2013 PAC).

No it is not. It stops characters who are not ignoring it for movement (Leap/Climb, flight, HSS, etc.) but characters ignoring the figure for movement would not need to stop.
not really, a quote from Plasticity "Opposing characters entering a square adjacent to this character must end their movement, even if they would not have to do so normally."
This quote applies to fliers, HHS, LC, but does not apply to 'Ignore Characters'. That is where Suffocate's "can't ignore Ultimate Clayface for movement purposes" matters since that does stop the 'Ignore Characters'.

You're right. My bad.
I should have reread the power before posting.

Doesn't it retain the opposing figures cannot ignore clayface for movement?

Right. Figures that have "IM: Can move through squares adjacent to opposing character"s or "IM: Can move through squares adjacent to or occupied by opposing characters" are stopped by Plasticity. Figures with "IM: Ignores characters for Movement" will ignore Plasticity, but Clayface will grab them as well. Even figures that ignore Plasticity will still have a problem with Clayface.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
“No matter how subtle the wizard, a knife between the shoulder blades will seriously cramp his style.”

So to clarify, even a figure with Phasing will have to break away from UC because of the line that states "adjacent opposing characters can not ignore Ultimate Clayface" right?
Gulyadkin Victims List: Spider-Man (ASM 001b), Green Goblin (M10A 004).
Black Panther R (IC) Mjolnir Attempts: 2 for 2! HE IS WORTHY!

That's a big 10-4 good buddy.
