So, I'm rooting through Previews yesterday and I come across this - teaser trailer, is what it is - for 1602. Written by Neil Gaiman, Adam Kubert art that looks better than his wholly acceptable norm, I am intrigued. But the teaser tells me nothing about the concept, and I don't want to drop $3.50 to read a book I know nothing about! So, please, anyone who can, inform me about this book so I can make an informed decision.
Thank You,
Gary E. Poisson
My end goal and greatest hope: Mat 25:23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
all ANYONE knows is that is a mini series by gaiman kubert and isanove. other than that who knows, gaiman was supposedly allowed carte blanche of all marvel charachters wich he says he took full advantage of...
and i am sure the second picture is namor. pointy ears! i think the first pic is kid storm and the last pic is another namor. (maybe before torch found him in ff). i dunno about the third tho.
Yeah, but Gaiman is brilliant he's not going to do anything upsetting without a brilliant story to go along with it. Afterall anyone who's read any of his stuff (ie Sandman) knows that he doesn't do anything drastic without explaining it.

Well, if that's that, then I'll just skip it. I don't watch movies without a full trailer, and I'm not going to toss away my money on comic books without a decent synopsis.
I mean, how many people saw a skeletal foot and said "Ooh! Ooh! I want to see "Pirates of the Carribean"!"

I did!!
Actually seeing the full trailer of Pirates turned me a little away from it, but I'll probably still see it. Teasers tend to generate more interest as people follow up trying to find every leaked bit of info they can find. People who see too much of a trailer tend to be disappointed by the movie in that all the "good" scenes were already seen.
Having said that, I'm interested in this 1602 now that I've heard about it.
nightcreaper - you're right about storm and the last being Namor. But the second one is Peter Parker. It has to be with the little spider there. They've got me on the third one as well. Either way, I will definitely be looking forward to this. And yeah, who IS the guy in Wizard, they did make it seem as though they knew who he was, but I have no idea.
In an interview with Gaiman he lead me to believe that this book is going to involve Marvel characters as well as his own. All I know is that I'm excited about it. It's rare that you see super secret projects like this and JLA/Avengers. Plus, with all the cool things Marvel has been going recently it's sure to be an instant classic.
grandpa howlett
wizard shazam
an old sailor that met namor
my mom
i too wanted to see pirates of the carribean with out seeing the trailer
also just because he has carte blanche of the marvel universe doesnt mean it will center around ONLY already existing marvel charachters, he is very likely to create his own charachter that touches the lives of a bunch of the marvel guys.(remember the page with the 17 year old kid chained up that is going to die) not saying that this WILL happen just something for all of us to remember
