I can't find anything that stops me from using an ata on a team base but I'm questioning how many times I have to pay for the ata. Is it just once for the team base or #x for each character on the team?

The team base is a character. You would only pay the cost once.

If you then do solo adventure with a character, do they get the benefit of the ATA, assuming they meet the keyword requirement?

They will not. The solo character did not pay the cost of the ATA, so it will not get the benefit of the ATA.

Could I pay for them to have it though? By paying the cost of the ATA for the team base plus all of the characters on it!

No. They are not on your team during force construction. Or, if they are, then they could never be part of the team base since only characters that began the game on the team base are allowed to re-attach.

There is no way to abuse ATAs with a team dial.

Unless we see some errata, no. the Team is the character in your starting force, not the individual members. You can't assign the ATA to characters not on your force at construction (same reason you can't assign it to characters on your sideline.)

Does this still hold up now that the characters produced by Solo Adventure are considered replacement characters?

It should, seeing as if you give a duo character an ATA and split only one of the characters can have the ATA.
