Can the Teen Titan's Green Lantern use Energy Explosion and Blades/Fangs/Claws
Would it be possible to get some kind of official ruling on whether Green Lantern from the Teen Titan set can use Energy Explosion or Blades/Fangs/Claws with the ANYTHING I CAN IMAGINE special power? I have seen like 6 different posts regarding the topic (including the units section comments) and they all end with ambiguous responses. I can see the argument on both sides.
On one hand, people argue that the two powers can only be used when a character is given a close/ranged combat attack. Thus, they "require a close/ranged combat attack." The wording definitely matches up.
On the other hand, they don't explicitly say that they require a close/ranged combat attack to activate their effects. It just says that you may do it when you're already giving them a close/ranged combat attack. You aren't technically "activating" it using the action, it's just being triggered by the action.

I'll go for the yes. It make sense because both powers' activation is triggered by the right kind of action (the SP does not say it has to be the only effect said action activates). And also because Green Lantern should be able to sprout machinre guns or swords out of thin air (that argument has absolutly no value, of course )
You know everyone loves to be the villain. Hugh Grant
As much as I'd like it to be yes, I actually think no. My thought is that since the close/range combat action is given in order to make an attack, not to use the power that also pops up as a result, it wouldn't be valid. The use of blades or EE happens as a side effect of giving a character a close or range combat action. While the range/close action is a requirement for those powers to work, I don't think it is the same thing as Flurry or Ranged Combat Expert.
Would LOVE for an orange to tell me I'm wrong, though ^^
Lol they never definitively answered if the 10th Anniversary Lantern gets the close combat attack anytime he uses barrier or only when and after the construct is attached. So I can't wait to see what happens here.
My two cents are he cannot and should not be able to use use EE and BCF based on the current rules wording.
I would've just figured that the powers that begin with, "Give this character a power/close combat/ranged combat action..." would work and the ones that don't, can't be used. Seems pretty black and white to me. But who am I? Nobody. Haha
Guy Gardner solves his problems with a chainsaw and he never has the same problem twice...
I was on the side of JimmyGhost, Flash Gordon, and Breno, while my friend was on Captain Krueger's side. Currently, our play group has decided to allow it for comic accuracy (Since Hal should be able to make a blade or claws) until there was on official ruling from an orange, stating otherwise.

This is good as long as everyone is on the same page there.
I honestly completely forgot that this question just fizzled. I'll post the issue in the cave and get back as soon as I know. I'm curious as well, and as is seen in previous threads, my stance is that it should work. MisterId's stance was that it shouldn't, and as Maraud thankfully points out, neither of us were on the team yet so none of those posts, while now colorful, have any bearing on the rules.
I would say no.
Cause the range/close, and power action part is just to pick the power you can use. once he has it, all it says is he can use it... And anytime you get a standard power you would follow the standard rules for it.

EE is a ranged combat action. BCF triggers after one is given a close combat action. How would these stack when ones ranged and the other is close? Am I missing something? I'm all for GL making swords and flinging them, but I wouldn't see the powers stacking. But that's just my 2¢ :D

The question is not regarding them stacking together. The question is, since BCF triggers when a close combat action is given and EE triggers when a ranged combat action is given, do they qualify for "Anything I Can Imagine". You don't give the character a CCA or RCA to activate them, but they activate when you give the appropriate action.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

**Palms forehead ** Shoulda had a V8! Lol. Ok. I get it now. Thanks for the clarification.
Edit: So in that case, I change my 2¢.
I'd say yes to EE since he has Running Shot on those clix giving him the RCA to trigger EE.
BCF may be different as he doesn't have a power on his dial like charge that would trigger BCF like the above mentioned power would.
