My question
Does using the Teen Titan Team Ability as a free action through the robin suit on a character that already has the TT TA have the potential to do the 1 unavoidabe damage?

Thought process
Since the wording of the TT TA says "If the result was 1-4, deal the character given the POWER ACTION 1 unavoidable damage" If you use the robin suit on a character that already has the TT TA that makes it a FREE ACTION. Therefore neither character was given a power action to activate the power so no 1 unavoidable damage.

The wording
robin suit
"This character possesses Titans Team Ability. If this character already has Titans Team Ability, it can use the team ability as a free action."

Teen Titans TA
"TITANS
When two friendly characters that can use the Titans team ability are adjacent to each other, give one of them a power action and roll a d6. Heal the other character of 1 damage. If the result was 1-4, deal the character given the power action 1 unavoidable damage"

Hmmm. Good wording question. One would think due to the way it's worded you wouldn't take that damage. Interested to see what the community thinks.

I'd think you'd probably still take the damage since you're still giving an action to do it(although it's a free action). I'm interested in the answer for this, it'd definitely make the Robin Suit really awesome if you don't take damage.

While I think you would still take the damage, it would make the Robin suit a much more viable choice if you did not. Right now it's pretty much the lowest option on the list, but this could bump it up a bit. Hoping they rule that there is no damage.

All it is allowing you to do is activate the Power action required to use the ability as a Free Action. Just like some characters can use other power, attack, and move actions for Free.

However the TA rules specifically say "the character given the power action". They do not for instance say

the character that activated the power
or
the character that was given the action

It specifically says POWER action. If the team ability was used as a free action there was no power action done.

If an orange rule person sees this could you please post acknowledging that this topic has been seen. Not asking for an immediate ruling just that you've seen it and it is being thought about/debated. I ask because I have no idea how active the orange rule people are. We all have lives after all.

I'm sure the orange people would say if your using the ability and your roll would result in the 1 damage then your taking it even if its as a free action via the suit.

Well seeing as you don't have an orange background I'm going to keep asking until I get a response.

First of all, rude.

Second of all, he has an extremely good point. If you weren't going to take damage, why would you roll?

Third of all, while the orange's word is law, that does not make everyone else invalid.

I responded in that manner because he/she responded in a manner suggesting they knew what the oranges thought. As far as I can tell they do not have any indicator of being of a special rank/position of knowledge. So with that they were representing their own opinion as that of the oranges. I took issue with their wording which suggested a relationship with orange that is not indicated anywhere not their opinion.
As to why you would roll I believe there is a special power that comes into play whenever a number comes up on a die.
