Argh! I need confirmation on a few grenade issues. Several problems arose recently in a tournament that I really want to get clarified,
For the sake of questions/answers, please use the grid below. "R" represents GoW General Raam. "2" represents an opposing character with Stealth in hindering terrain who also has Super Senses. "1" and "3" are adjacent characters friendly to "2".
1.) If General Raam tosses a grenade at 2, please confirm that, as Raam is targeting the square that it does not matter that "2" is in stealth. Raam targets the square and then rolls an attack that is first compared to "2's" defense value - regardless of stealth. (The attack roll is then also compared to 1 and 3 regardless of whether or not they also have stealth.)
2.) If a character targets the same square (2) with an Ink grenade, which says place a marker under the target, is the Ink grenade thrower required to make an attack roll? Does this attack still nerf the opponent's stealth?
3.) If character 2 makes a successful Super Senses attack roll, would that negate the entire attack or would characters 1 and 3 still potentially take damage even though 2 evaded the attack?
4.) Overall, grenades nerf stealth. Right?

Throw a Grenade
Give the character a power action, decrease the number of grenades in your grenade pool by 1 (if greater than 0), and choose a type of grenade listed on the character’s character card. Choose a target square within 5 squares and line of fire and for this attack, this character can use . Make a ranged combat attack targeting all characters occupying or adjacent to the target square. Deal damage to each character hit based only on the type of grenade chosen.
Ink (1 penetrating damage): Place a hindering terrain marker in the target square. At the beginning of your next turn, deal 1 additional penetrating damage to each character occupying the target or adjacent squares, then remove the marker.
1) Stealth is irrelevant as LoF is not drawn to the figure.
You don't roll first against anyone. You target all figures at the same time. Heck, there doesn't even have to be a figure in the target square.
What if the figure in the target square is CW Loki with this trait:

Would he roll Shape Change for the grenade attack? If so what happens if he rolls a 6 on a grenade attack?
No, that is wrong. You roll for Shape Change when you're targeted by an attack, grenades target the square not the character.
So, you get to roll for super senses but not shape change.
Right, Shape Change activates when the character is targeted by an attack.

Grenades make a ranged combat attack targeting all characters occupying or adjacent to the target square. Therefore, all the conditions that Shape Change requires are met, and Loki will get to make a Shape Change roll.
Right, Shape Change activates when the character is targeted by an attack.

That is the exact same argument that was used by my opponent to claim that I could not use a grenade against a stealthed figure. Shape Change is used to stop/prevent an attack from being initiated. Shape Change cannot be used against a grenade because the attack happens. Period. I toss the grenade and it detonates. Boom. All that is left is to see who takes damage and how much. So, Super Senses, Impervious, etc do work. But the initial attack targets the square, not any character. Since the character is not targeted there is no Shape Change roll.
The part you highlighted is there to determine who gets hit by an attack that has already happened and cannot be prevented.

Actually, drawing lines of fire and targeting are very different things. There's several Orange posts out there that say you can roll SC against grenades.
As someone who has fielded gears pieces a lot...when u target the square u are targeting all characters in the square and adjacent to the square without using line of fire to the characters but to that square. Batman just ate a pineapple.
Grenades also ignore characters for line of fire but the character will get targeted by the attack just not by line of fire as the square is targeted. Shape change, eshield, super senses will still apply.

Do not fret though if they do not move from those squares of hindering by ram they will take 1 penetrating damage next turn from ink and 1 damage if u roll a 5-6 from his special power at the end if your turn from any hindering terrain placed by ram so his power stacks with his ink
