I was wondering how the FAQ says that only only one team ability can be wildcarded for every action. What exactly does it mean?
I mean, wasn't it like that in the first place because you cannot use more than one wildcard while moving anyway?
Does it still mean that I can change wildcards within one turn(because it doesn't necessarily mean that the character moved that turn)? like move using JLA, then before the turn ends, I switch to Batman team? That's what I'm confused about. Also like wildcarding Superman Enemy, then Batman at the end of the turn (again, it is not used during a move).
I think the rule was simply clarifying when you could use different Team abilities.
You can still use JLA move to move your guy next to Batman. Then use SHIELD to give Bats a +1 to damage at range - but you can't use both Hydra and SHIELD to give Bats +1 to Hit and a +1 to damage.
The real question for me is this you can change your Team designation while it's the other players turn. One "action" now seems to say if Superman is going to use his heat ray to blast a WC in hindering and the target announces he is using Bats Team ability (which I feel he should have had to say before his turn ended) - then Superman can switch to charge and attack and the WC can't say 'Now I'm using Mystics'.
At least that's what I hope it means...
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.
Basically, the ruling gets rid of the Wildcard loop.
Old way:
"I shoot Ultron." "No, you can't. He is using the Bats TA." "Ok, then I shoot Dr. Strange." "OK, Ultron is now a Defender, and Strange uses his DV+ES/D." "OK, Since he no longeris using the Bats TA, then I shoot Ultron" "No, you can't. Ultron is using the Bats TA."
Now:
"I shoot Ultron." "Nope. Ultron is using the Bats TA." "Ok, I shoot Dr. Strange." "Dang, OK then....."
You can still use JLA move to move your guy next to Batman. Then use SHIELD to give Bats a +1 to damage at range - but you can't use both Hydra and SHIELD to give Bats +1 to Hit and a +1 to damage.
Only if that's over two turns...can't move and then use SHIELD, since SHIELD takes an action :-)
I'm fairly certain you can use any team ability in your turn so long as it doesn't cost an action token.
Like if you had a team of Doombots with an FF member and an xmen member. You could declare all your doombots as being FF, push one to kill it thus giving all the rest a click of healing, and then switch to the X-men ability and give out action token to do the click trade off. Since the FF ability doesn't require an action token to use, you can switch to another ability before your turn ends. But once you've given an action, you are stuck with the team ability you used until your next turn.
Another scenario:
Doombots (hey, I love em), an FF member, a Brotherhood member. You make a Doombot Brotherhood so they can taxi a character for free. Now you can't give him the FF team ability because the Brotherhood ability gives the Doombot a token. You have to wait till your next turn.
As of right now(and until the FAQs go into effect) you are never "locked" into any TA. You can change them at will. The only restriction was that you cannot use 2 TAs at the same time.....
Gojiratoho: you can change it as much as you want, just not during an action. So I can move doombot for free, then make him superman enemy to outwit someone, then make him batman at the end of the turn so you can't shoot him.

I'm not sure of this actually. If we look at the wildcard loop scenario you mentioned, when you go to shoot Ultron that is the declaration of your intended action, when I switch to Bats ability, you basically cancel your action and decide to do another action (that's clear as most people will allow Ultron to do something other than attack or allow some other character to do something rather than Ultron). This means when you declare the next thing you want to do it's not the same action as this would allow you to do two things (target my Ultron and attack someone else).
The only advantage I see of the new ruling is that you can not start as one team at the start of an attack (say Defenders) and then switch to Fantastic Four (which has what I consider a bad ruling that it can change in mid action according to the FAQ).
But I could be (and most likely am) wrong on this.
