DID I EVER TELL YOU ABOUT THE TIME I CREATED THAT GREAT DIVERSION?: Death mask can use Charge and Stealth. If Death Mask is adjacent to an opposing character, then that character must target Death Mask when it makes a close combat attack. If Death Mask is within an opposing character's range and line of fire, then that character must target Death Mask when it makes a ranged combat attack.
If two Death Masks are both adjacent to the same opposing character, how do we determine who the target "must" be? I think that goes back to the classic "active player chooses" rule, but not entirely sure. Maybe no attack is made, because neither can be the target (since both insist they must be the target over the other)?

Good! Now there is dissent! Only now we need someone more official (like Chrisdosmil)
He will only come make rulings if you offer him Catnip... just make sure you get the ruling before giving it to him!

But they are not choosing the other Death Mask, which violates the "must target" clause of that Death Mask's power.
If you can't target both of them, you can't make the attack.
They make a close combat attack targetting Death Mask. The ability doesn't say "must target this Death Mask". As long as they are satisfying the "that character must target Death Mask when it makes a close combat attack".
Which Death Mask is up to the active player to decide.

As a general rule, when a character name appears in a power, it's referring specifically to the character the card is assigned to. If it's meant to refer to any character with the same name it will say "any character named."
So in this case, saying "must target Death Mask" is equivalent to "must target this Death Mask."
Most likely we'll see an errata changing it to "must target a character named Death Mask."
Oh, I don't think I said it before... but I am going to shoot this up the chain.

Thanks! I thought you were just having fun for once and only posting joking messages (ironically, playing the role of Chrisdosmil, when he isn't in the rules forum).
