MIGHTY REVERT: IRON MAN: When turning the dial if this click is revealed due to damage taken from an opponent's attack, stop turning the dial. Give Iron Man a free action and replace him with a figure with the same name and less points that's the same number of clicks from its starting line. That character can't be given an action this turn and modifies its attack and damage values by +1 for the rest of the game. This power can't be ignored.
Could I revert to any of the IM3 movie Iron Mans that have MK something added to the name?
Wolveraizo is right. It kinda hurts, but the "Iron Man Mk X" figures can't act as Iron Man for a lot of purposes, like giving orders to Iron Man Drones from Chaos War.
Them's the breaks.
"It is a fool's prerogative to utter truths that no one else will speak." "Prove you have the strength and courage to be free."
i can use some "iron man mk X" to split/merge a duo character with the others correct characters (avenger prime, ironman and war machine [WoS, IM3])
why they can´t act like a "iron man"???

Good question, but Weergonzo is correct. Split/Merge rules work differently and independently of "revert" or "alter ego" powers. Trust me, there are a lot of people that wish Alter Ego worked more like what you are talking about. But, imagine the plethora of choice available to Bruce Wayne players in that world, as opposed to players of Longshot, or The Wrecker.
There are 70 characters with "Batman" in their title...

Any of the venues I play at, youd be fine. Ask your judge. Its on him. If its a big event of some kind...I could see why they would turn you down...but otherwise, if they dont let it slide then theyre a ####. point: when its all boiled down to just fun...a character is a character...and comic-accurate is comic-accurate
I reverted mine to Mk 40 a couple weeks ago. This was on a 1000pt team of nothing but Iron Man and a horde of Dwarves. Dwarf Pogs, Splitlip, and the Hobbit dwarves. Was I granted theme? Hellz yea

Fixed that for you. If your venue/judge wants to house-rule to allow things like this and you're happy with that then hurray for you. That doesn't validate derogatory names for people who choose to play by the actual rules.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

But the characters didn't "revert" to their older versions at the climactic battle in Fear Itself, so talking about comic accuracy within the context of the revert powers is just useless as the whole power is comic-inaccurate.

Really? Not only is this inappropriate for this thread, but it is a judgement you aren't qualified to make.
Perhaps at your venue everyone is so knowledgeable that there could never be any confusion but in many venues non-grayson judges wouldn't allow it because A) They follow the rules for the sake of consistency. B) This could easily cause confusion for younger or less experienced players which could easily spread from there.
Maybe you should leave the name calling and opinion out of it and just let the people that are actually trying to help answer the question the right way.
This is after all the rules forum, not the xhulksmashx opinion forum.

You joined in October. I assume youre not a vet...so you wouldnt know what "many" venues would do.
And yes, people did give the right answer...and my name-calling was a bit strong...but I was right, as well. They may ask their judge if using those figures would be ok.
And as far as my comic-accuracy comment...that referred to my team as a whole. The "a character is a character" comment referred to the actual Power being discussed. The many venues I have experience with love this game for the comics..and look past petty things like that unless the big stuff is on the line (Story Event, Supremacy League, ect.). Maybe his venue does and he hasnt discussed it, yet.
Its not my opinion to say House Rules are part of the game, its a fact. And he should ask his judge concerning things like that. Theres nothing confusing about anything I stated.

Um, he joined in October of last year, so... And I think I'm enough of a vet to say what "many" venues do.
Saying "some venues will allow this as a house rule, ask your judge" is fine. Making a value statement about the judges or players who won't is, frankly, over the line. If your venue wants to allow this, that's fine for them. Just as it's fine if they want to allow theme for a 1000 point force where only two figures have keywords. But that's not what the rules say, nor is it the normal circumstance. So maybe you need to be a little less judgmental.

I thought maybe he joined October, this year.. his name has "Kang" in it, after all..lol
it's cute that you think a join date indicates someones vet status
^Yes this^
Is your join date any indication of your experience at venues, or how long you've been playing?
Would it surprise you to know that there are players who have been around from the beginning who are not members here?
Still with the judging, tisk tisk.
I never said you were unclear or confusing. I implied that some judges have to consider the good of the venue as a whole so it is often best to keeps things clear and consistent.
I am fully aware of house rules and said nothing to disparage them.
Also many is not always equivalent to most. I live in Maryland and we have plenty of venues, to most of which I have been.
When supporting a growing field it can be counter productive to try to introduce to many options at once especially unnecessary ones.
Like I already said, if you are playing with experienced players who understand the rules but want to broaden their game then by all means play any house rule(s) that are deemed worthy.
So with that said I must agree with necrodog, perhaps it is just best to dial back the judgment. All either one of us is trying to make clear to you and anyone that read your statement is that just because a judge doesn't allow replacements outside of heroclix rules, doesn't mean they are being obtuse.
