I look at this guy and compare his dial to some of the figures from WXM (like 100 pt colossus) and it makes me just scratch my head. Very bland and weak.
SCORE: 70%. A very interesting counterpart to MOS001R Superman. This Iron Man might even be his better. You don't get Superman's X-Ray Vision, but you do get the auto-knockback + Energy Explosion. I imagine swarms of Moloids bouncing across the map like popcorn. I like how you can have 12 Attack or Outwit or Perplex as options. And all it takes is one good support figure like Sharon Carter ...or maybe a TKer to pull him back from his Running Shot... to make this guy KO more than his points.
The main downside, and it's a big one, is that super-short lifespan. Plus he isn't quite strong enough to be first in the batting order, and 100 points is a bit much to be the secondary attacker. He'll be good on 500-600 point teams where you're trying to fit every Avenger from one issue of the comics onto one team.

I want to like this piece, but then I look at m10th Iron Man, a common and only 25 points more and with all he does, I cannot justify ever using this Iron Man.

He is my favorite iron man for making the avengers prime. Most times he and Thor cost too much to fit cap on the team too, but now I can. Especially in AvX when we are required to use starter figs. I fly around with full powered Thor, try to do damage, and when he gets clipped, fly back to the other two at half power and form a nightmare.
I had a chance to play Iron Man at this level. He's at best a secondary attacker. I wish his first click had SOMETHING to help reduce/avoid damage besides toughness. Tony built this suit out of aluminum foil apparently. In the 4 games I played with him, he died in two shots every game but one. I'm seeing comments about "this guy would be good with support pieces" and I started thinking maybe some cheap tie up pieces would help him, but you know what? Doing that just adds cost to your team build to support a crappy piece. What a decent Iron Man? Grab 001 @150 from IIM. P.U.
i can see where theyre going w/ this one. If u can dangle something juicy in front of your opponent, iron man has time to position with running shot/flight, then while your opponent is distracted by whatever, you hit 'em with a Ranged Combat Expert. If theyre hitting this iron man, either be glad theyre not hitting your heavy hitter or something horrible has happened (ie everyone else on your list being dead). That being said, this IM isnt the best representation of that idea, but someone on the Avengers side had to be "meh" level
I played him on a 400 point Armor team last night for AvX. He actually did great on the mountain map. Knocking people off elevated with every hit is so much fun.
I actually like this design from a flavour standpoint - since Tony was going up against the X-Men in this storyline, he couldn't use metal in the armor's design thanks to Magneto. The carbon fibre suit is clearly not as durable as the normal metal ones.
