I understand that figures with resources can't hurt him, but does pulse wave ignore this? If a figure assigned the book gains or has pulse wave, does he ignore this damage too?
"ADAPTIVE ARMOR: When Iron Man would take damage from a character assigned a relic or resource, Iron Man ignores that damage and rolls a d6. On a result of 1-3, deal Iron Man 1 unavoidable damage. This ability can't be ignored."
Is there any other way to make him take damage if my whole team has the book assigned?

The answer to your question is highlighted in bold.
PulseWave ignores game effects. Iron Man has an effect that can't be ignored, so it would not be able to be ignored by PulseWave.

One of the few ways to get around his armor is to not be "assigned" the book. So, characters that switch in from your sidebar during the game are a good way to get around him. Split/Merge out of/into Duos, Alter Egos, Battlefield promo.. etc.
And I was wrong, disregard me!

Reason: Edit: I stand corrected, thought it was a decent way around him. Drat!

The book was ruled to be assigned to your whole team because it doesn't specify just at force construction. So any figures you bring in, or create or whatever are still assigned the Book.

Alter egos and battlefield promotion would still be assigned the book. From the player's guide:

Game effects that are applied to a character prior to replacement
are applied to the new character accordingly. If the replacement
results in multiple new characters, then the game effects are
distributed as decided by the characters‘ controller.
So split is the only way to have a character not assigned the book on a book team.
You could also just not play the Book. That's not meant to be a snarky line. It's entirely possible that you could find some other game elements that you can play and enjoy.
If you're not playing a Resource, all the sudden Iron Man becomes a lot more manageable.
Yeah, this is for a tournament we're having and where I was planning to use M10 Iron Man, Cerise, Magneto (Watx) and Splitlip with the whole book, but I was thinking I would be decimated by another Iron Man.
Seems I'll have to see if I modify to include some duo that can split or well, just kill the other points and avoid Iron Man completely.
I'm pretty sure Split wouldn't get around it. Since the Book is assigned to your entire force, there's nothing to 'distribute'.
@Nightcrawler: I've had very good results using that Iron Man along with a second character assigned the Utility Belt. You still get the benefits of a resource but it frees up your IM to attack other M10 IMs.

Read just the bolded. Game effects are applied to the replacement. the last part is just explaining what happens if a replacement results in multiples. Split would result in multiples that are ALL ASSIGNED THE BOOK.
