So the new Spider-Man has Improved Movement ignore characters and Tge Move and Attack ability. Does ignoring characters allow him to use the move and attack ability when based(adjacent) by an opposing character?
While he Ignores characters for movement.. I believe the restriction still applies that he cant use M&A while adjacent to an opposing character in general. I could be wrong though

I'm going to second this. Being physically adjacent to a figure is different then ignoring a character. What M&A looks for when it can be used is if your figure is physically adjacent and if you are then you cannot use it.
chrisdosmil: hpred is right. No "orange" is going to come into a thread when a correct answer has been given. Trade List
Just looked over some wording. Improved movement "activates when the character moves", so i agree the move and attack can't start, since you cannot give the character the power action to start the hypersonic move.
Though all 3 have the same answer (No you cannot use Move and Attack if you start adjacent even with IM), I agree with Spozun's reasoning, not the other two. Either way I think you have your answer though.
aqhoffman- greatest post possibly ever
jtallday- Jon I wouldn't challenge you if I wasn't sure you are wrong cuz I don't have that kind of energy.
That was my thought process too, but apparently at a tournament someone was arguing the contrayer with the new Spidey so was hoping to get an Orange ruling.
So characters that ignore other characters during movement don't automatically break away? or not need to breakaway, so that this spiderman would be able to use powers that require movement?

Next time show them the wording on improved movement on the PAC which is:
Quote
IMPROVED MOVEMENT
A character with the symbol uses the effects indicated by its character card. Improved Movement activates whenever the character moves.
Specifically point out the last sentence(bolded above). Then ask this retorical question:
"When you are about to give an action to activate HSS from move and attack are the character at that exact point moving?"
The answer is of course no. And because the character isn't moving the adjacent opposing character is not ignored. And therefore the character can't use the HSS granted by move and attack.
Move and Attack
This character can use Hypersonic Speed if it is not adjacent to an opposing
character when given the power action, but its attack value is modified by -2.
I don't see how IM even factors into this. The character is given an action before anything in a power happens.
Are you adjacent to an opposing character when given the action? If yes then you can't use Hypersonic speed.

Like Mirandir indicated there is no moving happening.
Oranges don't weigh in when the correct answer is provided (mostly).
There really is no need. Everything you have been told so far is correct. Ignoring a character for movement purposes will not let you ignore the clause in M&A stating that you may not be adjacent before beginning M&A.
Spozun and mirandir did seem to describe it most accurately. You roll breakaway when you have already declared a move which is why you get a token even if you fail. M&A can not be declared if you are adjacent so it never begins.

Their mistake is thinking of this as similar to how a character with Bases doesn't need to breakaway, even though they have been assured there is no relation.
@OP; landoman is correct, usually when an orange has not chimed in it is because the correct answer is already given and since there is no conflicting story here then you have what you came for.
I agree with everything said, the reason I want an Orange is cause when I go to local tournaments and point out a thread like this the people arguing against the obviously right answer make a b*tch fit about how there is no official ruling in the thread so it doesn't matter. -_-

Let them know they are welcome to disprove you as you have far more backing than they do. The responses that you have received here from members such johnidshultz, landoman, and mirandir are very reliable and trustworthy. They may not be oranges but have a wealth of knowledge and experience that you opposition couldn't hope to contend with. I know having a the orange background would make it easier but you have a lot more evidence than they do so assert yourself and let them know that they may not agree but they certainly haven't made a better argument. Either way good luck as it seems like you have some real tool bags to contend with.
