Needing clarification on willpower. I have looked through the rules and the forum, and have heard contradictory answers.
Scenario: I have Batgirl #025 and I am adjacent to my opponent and make an attack. The attack is successful. I put an action token on Batgirl. She has willpower on this dial.
Willpower: This character may ignore pushing damage.
Can I put a second token on her, ignoring pushing damage via willpower, and make another close combat attack?
I recall that the Rulebook mentions using pushing damage as an opportunity to deal extra damage to an opponent (or something along those lines) so wondering if the above is legit.
I'm a little confused here but I'll try to answer to the best of my ability.
The simple answer would be no. Unless you have Flurry or some way of attacking again, no. Willpower itself does not grant you another action of any sort, you just don't have to take 1 unavoidable when you get a second action token.
I think that what you saw in the rulebook was more of a tactical tip of sorts, saying that you can use your character one turn, and then the next turn you can push them to go ahead and get more damage in sooner as opposed to clearing that character, but you have to take 1 unavoidable pushing damage.
Willpower allows you to take an action the next turn, even if you have a single token on a figure already. It does not allow you to take two actions that require tokens in the same turn.
Preach on. I have heard an up start venue has been doing this alone with indom. Kinda meshing willpower, indom, and multi attack. They are holding a sealed tournament soon. Can't wait so I can try and correct them. Nicely.... Hopefully.
Just remember that a character can not take no more than one non-free action per turn. Willpower grants no free action whatsoever so the bolded part prevents you from confusing it in any way with flurry or multi-attack.
