Interesting rules question- can I play a ressource dial along with grandmaster's gem as specified by his trait:
"Grandmaster may begin the game with the mind gem attached to his base by playing the point cost. This object does not count your toward your object total and is scored and removed from the game when grandmaster is OK'd. In addition to the normal effects grandmaster modifies his attack value by 1+ when the mind gem is attached."

You may not. The gem is still a special object added to your force and if you are using a resource, you can't have special objects in your force.

No. The gem does not count towards your object total but it's still part of your force.

The contrast would be something like #CA040 Captain America's Shield that says it doesn't count toward your force. In such a case, you COULD use a resource with it.
