A dispute came up during one of my games with my playgroup regarding her attack SP.

However, the answer there did not really reference what came up in our game exactly as it asks if you can perform them power action and THEN perform the free action.

The argument was whether or not the character still gains the sidestep for the turn or not. I am aware that the action says "instead" but the orange post in in thread was a bit confusing as it helped both arguments and ended up just seeming contradictory:

My logic was that instead of a free action the action becomes a power action but the power does not say "Do this instead." as the mod specified "The instead in this case means 'instead of a free action'." and Lilandra's text "and then" would seem to refer that something has already taken place such as giving the character sidestep for the turn.

So essentially the question is why would these 2 powers not work together as based off the wording the power action would simply be used instead of a free action to gain the bonus of getting to move the character to her side but I see no reason why it would negate the sidestep gain.

As stated, it looks like you can do both. There doesn't not seem to be a either/or statement in the power.

I think you're right.

You don't get to use the power twice, once as a free action, and a second time as a power action (or vice versa).

However, if you activate the power with a power action instead of a free action you still activate all the effects. So, you would still choose a friendly character not within 6 squares, and then place that character adjacent to her, and that character can use Sidestep this turn.

The Orange stated:
"Instead" in this case means "instead of a free action." So you get to do one or the other, but not both

Personally I agree on this. Also, Lilandra is powerful this way.
