Does Quake and Force Blast work together? I ask because I want to know if the Impact Beam will allow you to generate penetrating damage from quake's knock back.
QUAKE
Give this character a close combat action; this character’s damage value
becomes 2 and is locked. Make a close combat attack that targets all opposing characters this character can attack with a close combat attack. Each hit character is knocked back 2 squares.
FORCE BLAST
Give this character a power action and roll a d6; a single adjacent
opposing character is knocked back from this character a number of squares equal to the result. When this character hits with an attack, you may choose that it generates knock back if it doesn’t already.
Impact Beam (Right Index)
This character can use Force Blast. A target is knocked back equal to twice the d6 roll for Force Blast. Knock back damage dealt by this character is increased by 1 and is penetrating.

So, no, Quake and Force Blast don't usually work together since Quake already generates knock back.
However, the second sentence in the Impact Beam description just talks about knock back, generally, and not Force Blast, specifically. Any and all knock back generated by a character with the Impact Beam ring will thus get the "super" knock back described in that second sentence.
