This ATA is now useless.

Maybe bump it to 4-6 points, and leave off "but don't possess any other team abilities."

What makes you say it's useless?

It is "useless" for Guardians teams because ATAs are only allowed on themed teams. GotG-themed teams would then have no TAs to wildcard, and they lose their own. But then, this ATA was only ever useful on non-GotG themes. It's best when a member's in a generic force, such as Rocket Raccoon on an Animal theme.

ATA's are not aloud only on a theme team. I give a quote from a ruling.
"all characters that meet the prerequisites must be assigned the ATA and your force’s Build Total is affected accordingly." You could have superman with
x-men and only have a ATA for superman.

That's not true anymore, it's been changed. ATA's can only be used on theme teams now.

This definitely should be changed.

With the change to the ATA & Themed Team rules, it is more difficult to get an ATA in play, but not impossible; you just need to make a Themed Team using a Keyword other than Guardians of the Galaxy. GotG030 Yondu has Mystical, GotGM013 Drax has Assassin, Brute and Warrior, etc; all Keywords around which very good teams can be made.

It's not that the ATA is literally useless, but even on those kinds of themed teams you mention your options to make a team with those keywords, that isn't terrible, and has a valuable ATA to be worth wildcarding is extremely low.

So basically I can put Yondu on a mystical team to give him the Mystics TA at the cost of using any other ATA for my team. Whoopee.

It CAN be useful. I made a 400 point Defenders theme team to play, Moondragon, Black Cat, Red Shulk, and Valkyrie. Comes out to 399. So I gave Moondragon this ATA because she has no other Team Abilities, and Black Cat's Defenders TA was going to go to waste without it.

I got my butt handed to me in a 300 modern game by 2 Rocket's using this ATA. 2 GotG Rockets, 2 Phalanx Ultron drones, Jarvis, 5 ID cards(Nova and Black Widow are the only 2 I can be sure of.), and a full Power Plant. He was using the ID characters for their TA. Call in Black Widow with Ultron, copy Avengers Initiative with both Rocket's, Running Shot through the water. I had won map roll and put him on Flooded Wakanda. I lost more to the Impact Beam, but he made excellent use of this ATA.
