Can I get an official ruling on this one?

Shuma: DARK GOD OF THE CANCERVERSE: Shuma-Gorath can use Flurry and Plasticity. When this character is given an action that includes a close combat attack, all squares within a range of 5 and line of fire are considered adjacent.

Tellus: LINK TELEPATHICALLY: Friendly characters within 4 squares can draw lines of fire and count range and squares from the square of any one friendly character within 4 squares of Tellus.

Does Tellus's trait extend Shuma's flurry adjacency range? Because Shuma's wording counts range, it makes sense that it might.

Tellus works with everything.

Yes, Shuma will be able to count 5 squares from another figure that is also within 4 of Tellus.

It has been previously ruled that you can use Giant Reach through Tellus and Dark God of the Cancerverse uses similar wording.

Finally, something that makes Shuma competitive!

I'm assuming Tellus's ability is meant for ranged attacks, but, since Shuma's power specifically mentions range, it seems to apply here. I'm hoping for an orange ruling.

And when he uses Tentacle Attack,:
1) does he have to target the 5 characters from the same square of himself, or
2) can he target from himself for 1, from fig X (within 4 of Tellus) for 2, and from fig Y (also within 4 of Tellus) for the other 2?

I made a list of a bunch of things that work with Tellus in an old Tellus thread. This is one, alfred's ranged healing is one, characters who can mastermind 4 squares away is one. Leash's ranged capture.

Ah yes, good call. So you could draw from Shuma himself and ONE character within 4 squares of Tellus.
