Does blocking terrain take damage when it is destroyed or is it just removed?
My reasoning is this
pg 13
A square of blocking terrain can be destroyed by a single attack that deals at least 3 damage. When a character attacks blocking terrain, the attack automatically succeeds.
now pg 10 on dealing damage
When an attack hits, the damage dealt to the target is equal to the attacker damage value, modified by any game effects. The target takes that much damage, modified by any game effects.
The person I was debating was saying this
Quote
Damage taken: The number of clockwise clicks applied to a target after damage is dealt.
Terrain can be attacked and dealt damage, but attacking terrain does not have a value for damage taken.
Which is correct? Do objects 'take' damage or not?

Damage dealt that isn't reduced or ignored in some way is then taken.
As far as I'm concerned, that is.
The better question is, why do you ask?
EDIT: Okay, so I went to that thread and see now what the question is.
I'll stand by my opinion that a wall being hit then takes whatever damage it was dealt, but I'll add that I feel Thor should be amended to only promote when dealing damage to a character. Which isn't to say I don't like the image of Thor being so mad he punches a wall and then gets stronger for having done so.
"Although a bystander token has combat values and follows all rules for HeroClix characters, it does not click. If a bystander token takes any damage, it is defeated."
They follow all the rules of a character, so can take damage. They can't click, so they have special rules for taking damage.

As I said in the other thread... your quote clearly states that they both do not click, and do take damage.
So if they never "take" damage, as you're suggesting, they'd never need to click.
I see where everyone's at, here, and I understand the wheres and whyfors, I'm just saying it's a bad clarification.

Taking damage is not damage taken. Damage taken is a value that is returned after taking damage. You must take damage to have damage taken.
Here is how you "take" damage

Here is what damage taken is

The amount of damage a character takes is always considered the specific number of clicks applied before stopping. If a character is KO’d or has a game effect that causes the clicking to stop, the damage taken is determined accordingly.
I can see the argument that Bystander tokens do not create a value for Damage Taken, but they most certainly can take damage. Terrain definitely does not, because it is not a character.
