You sit down at a 300 pt turny and are waiting patently for the judge to call out the pairings. And there a guy/girl sits down across from you and your stomach turns. You know no matter what you do there is no way you can beat this team. What is it.

I have lost my fair share and I have a few Wins be by my name as well but I hate to see certain teams. Like...
I HATE BATMAN TEAMS!!! I play primarily Marvel and hate Batman teams. I also hate ConArtists and Sentinals, especally used together.
What do you hate to sit across from you?

Honestly I dont really get that way. I mean I realize that any team is unbeatable.

I find certain figures to be problematic. Ultron for example.

I faced a team that was primarily Ultron and a bunch of R Psylockes.

I lost only becasue time was called. It took me so long to get to where I could pick off the Psylockes and I eventually dropped a V Whirlwind right in front of Ultron to Flurry him.

I just could not do enough damage in theallocated amount of time.

That's just the way the cookie crumbles.

I have certain Players who are very tough and who beat me pretty regularly. I live in San Diego and for my money the toughest guys playing are:

RD known here as CaptAmerica44 he ranked 26th at WWE.
His daughter is pretty evenly matched against me regularly. We usually fight long almost stand off battles.

Ian Moore is also quite good and a gentlemen named DartGannon here.

They all play well strategically and are very methodical in thier playing.

Beyond that though I have only one person who really initimidates me a little because I have yet to beat him.

But I will .... Bwah Ha Ha!!!

I must beat Ryan sooner or later. One day his dice will fail him.

Seriously it's a game and it's supposed to be fun and yeah there are gonna be rivalries. But I don't fear anyone and I don't fear losing.

I just like winning a heck of a lot more.

Firelord, obviously. I like having attack options, rather than having to mass my whole force to obliterate the Q-tip in one turn.

E/V Nightwing - Stealth, Outwit and decent ranged attack. Most Stealthed figures you can ignore for a while, but Nightwing is just a pain in the Bat.

i dont care to go up against a vet human torch and his 8 ladies of the night with their pimp, rookie blizzard and of course Human Torch has a rookie vulture taxying him. My Fiance had to face that team - Human torch killed Vet She-Hulk in one hit - without turning off invulnerability. Something just isnt right there - did i mention that she was killed on the first round?

Yes, the 8 Ho's and Blizzard with a taxi and a run & shooter, or any other ranged attacker is an extremely cheezy and annoying combo to face. I believe the best thing you can do here is hope you get to go first and take out his blizzard so he can't pulse wave his Con-Artists. Then you can knock off the ones he pushes. There are lots of cheezy combos out there, but this one has to rank in the top 5 on my most annoying teams list. The other is Nightcrawler with multiple perplexers. Any combo with Batman and/or V Nightwing can also drive you nuts. The key to winning tournaments in my opinion is mobility. If you have more movement including some free-move taxiis and/or leadership, you should be able to out-maneuver your opponnent for the victory, but not always. Unfortunately the dice are always going to have a large influence on how your games go... which is why I recommend bringing a probability controller or two...

I just don't like to play against people who are so slow the game doesn't finish :-)

Although I don't really care for Firelord, but the better players here generally don't use him, and the rest I'm not worried about :-)

What I hate to play against is guy wearing a Spiderman t-shirt in an DC tournament. IT'S JUST NOT RIGHT!!

Amen Brother, hate the ones who take 5 minutes, then ask the Judge how much time left, then take anothe couple of minutes, then pass......

THINK AHEAD PEOPLE.....and dont give me the line about "well if i have something planned and then my oppent does something i didnt think of, so now i have to think again"....PLEASE.......

A Buddy of mine has a nack of using V Ironman and V Dr. Doom to move attack, attack and move back. It's his hit and run tactic that floors me. So I now have a great anti hit and run. E. Ultron and E Batman with another free moving team mate for Ultron to do his thing.

I don't think this is legal. When using Run & Shoot you have to use the powers in that order: Run, then shoot. You wouldn't be able to shoot then run, so pull out the PAC on him next time and see what he says.

I hate playing people who get mad. it's just a game and if your loosing deal with it.

I hate attacking my own characters with my medics. Routinely, I will need a 5 or 6 to heal a character and they will criticially miss or roll a 3. I think out of the six tournaments I have been in I heal three characters total.

Ultron and his cheese must be defeated....at all costs.
Firelord is another to be wary of......



I've got a baseball bat with 12 marks on it; 1 for each Ultron I've ko'd. I expect to add to it.

I don't like going against anybody who uses duplicates of named figures. Thank god my venue has a house rule of no dupes. I don't think it is right to have duplicates on a team, you never see duplicates in comic books, do you???
