GET IN YOUR FACE: Guy Gardner can use Charge. Give Guy Gardner a move action, and if he ends his move adjacent to an opposing character, the move action counts as a free action instead, and he uses Battle Fury until that character is KO'd.
What I would like to know is: if Guy moves and ends next to an opposing character, is it still the beginning of your turn? I think the answer is yes, but the 'move action that counts as a free action instead' wording is confusing.
You would be able to activate it as a free action though. I would say that you can do that.
This is correct. When you Declare the Move Action it is not a Free Action. It does not change to a Free Action until after the movement has ended. You cannot declare non-Free Actions during the Beginning of your turn phase.

FWIW, I agree with this as "start of the turn" only ends when you make a non-free action and this move is a free action "instead" (changing the nature of the action... note that it's not Charge either), but if you wanted to be certain, I would E-mail [email protected] to get it right from the horse's mouth.
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????
...Dragon, you may want to re-read that as I just did... we both agreed with the same post and gave different answers.

Re-Read and I still agree with myself
You wouldn't be able to declare the move action until after the end of your beginning of turn phase. As such you could not move as a free action during the beginning of your turn

The player's guide says:
Turns
The "beginning of turn" ends with the first non-free action
assigned to a character, unless that action specifically states that
it can be given during the beginning of the turn.
Normally, the beginning of turn would end once you give Guy that move action, but since it counts as a free action instead, by the time the action resolves, no non-free actions have been given, and so the beginning of the turn continues.

The declaration of the first non-free action marks the end of the beginning of the turn. The beginning of the turn does not end until that moment.
If you declare a move action as a non-free action and it instead becomes a free action, did you declare a non-free action? If yes, then Guy better be getting an action token too and it better count against your action total. If no, I don't see how it ended the beginning of the turn.

Game effects activated by free actions may also be resolved during the “beginning of your turn” or the “end of your turn."
"Get In Your Face" is not activated by a free action. It's activated by a regular non-free action and therefore it cannot be activated during the beginnning of turn phase. Even if the action bbecomes a free action before it has resolved.

What determines the end of the beginning of the turn? The only thing that ends the beginning of the turn is the declaration of a non-free action.
If I declare a non-free action, I will be given a non-free action, meaning it must count against my action total for the turn and I must be given an action token.

A Non-free action was declared. The character was given a move action. Not a move action as a free action but a plain ol' non-free move action. Thereby ending the beginning of turn-phase.
Sure if you end the movement adjacent to an opposing character the non-free action becomes a free action resulting in no action token given and no decrease of the action total. However the beginning of turn has allready ended and you can't "unend" it.
Hmm I do think that makes sense. Since it's not 'activated' by a free action, and that's the wording used in the rulebook re: beginning of the turn, etc, that old Predator X ruling should hold for Guy as well.
Still, it's a strange case, so I've emailed WK and we'll see what they say.
