I just wanted to know that with the current rules and errata that are in effect, if a Hypersonic character makes a close combat attacka against an opposing character and still has movement left over after the attack, is he/she required to roll a break away roll in the middle of the action?? This is in reference to a character who is also a flier, but if there's a difference between hypersonic fliers over runners or swimmers, could some one clarify that as well?? Thanks!

No you do not need to roll break away in the middle of Hypersonic.

If they have Plasticity and the character using HSS does not have Improved Movement Characters then Plasticity would immediately make them stop when they became adjacent and they would not be allowed to make the close combat attack from HSS.

As to why you do not roll break away and why you have to stop next to someone with plasticity without making an attack, remember that with HSS you attack while still moving!!

Because plasticity says you stop, even if you don't have to normally. But if you had IM: characters you wouldn't.
Breakaway is only rolled when the character begins movement, not during.
Except for VERY specific characters that say otherwise like AV036 Falcon or MU034 Archangel... both of which have a "Fly-by" SP that lets them charge and then continue their movement after. In that case, since they move then attack, they have to breakaway before continuing on... with HSS, you attack DURING the movement so they technically never stop to need to breakaway.
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????

Yes, but at this point in the game, almost every non-golden rule has at least one character who can bypass or violate it. Taking the time to list every exception to a rule would take more time than it would to explain the rule in the first place, now.
So when I address rules, I generally don't mention limited exceptions, because that's mostly what this game revolves around, now. Exceptions.
