I read the rules and powers ability chart.

Can you use hypersonic speed.
Move your character lets say 2/ out of 12
attack somebody range
then move after words your remaining 10 away?

does this work the same for melee

the main thing im getting at is can you move and finish your move after an attack.

Yes. That is the special part of Hypersonic. Finishing your move after you attack.

Also remember that if you Hypersonic to do a ranged attack, your range value is halved.

Yes. Or rather sort of. The attack in Hypersonic Speed happens during movement. So it's not a move-attack-move as the character is still considered moving while making the attack.

Also note that as the attack happens during movement if the character is forcibly stopped before making the attack it cannot make the attack.

The above is true (and is known). Instances where this may come up:

HSS moving adjacent to a Plasticity figure ( with no ability to ignore figures) - ends movement, no attack

HSS enters Hindering Terrain (with no ability to ignore it) - ends movement, no attack.

Do you have to breakaway?

To start moving? yes

To continue moving after making an attack? no
