If you KO a figure, the standard rule is that you score Victory Points for that figure. There is caveat for points scored on Replacement characters, found on page 6, but since these figures are added to the game, not replacements, that would not apply.

TL;DR. You score Victory Points for them because there is nothing telling you not to.
