Dial H For Heroclix Best Build Contest October 2014
We have a monthly build contest for our podcast "Dial H For Heroclix". The rules are simple. We give you build rules for an event. The event is one that is upcoming at one of our local venues. You build us a team. You can give us ideas on how to play your team and ideas for map choice as well. The more information, the more likely we are to choose your team. We look through all your team submissions, and each pick one we like the best. We use your team during our tourney. Whichever of us does best in the tourney wins. The person who submitted the winning team build gets 6 custom poker chip action markers, featuring a comics logo of your choice (examples can be seen on our Instagram).
Here's one version of a team I have a lot of fun with, tweaked to fit the parameters:

Dial-wise, it's lockdown-heavy and damage-light so you'll be relying on your Utility Belt character to try and bring the numbers up. I've fudged a little by not specifying who gets the belt. I usually put it on Batman and make him a Running Shot Pulse Waver, but realistically it's probably better to put it on Nightwing or Blackbat, equip Suit of Sorrows, throw out some heavy objects, and pick TK for Batman's power to help get your belted face-beater into attack range.
One trick I enjoy pulling off, when the opportunity presents itself, is to have Red Robin carry Batman into position to free-action incap a couple of opposing characters who've run forward and tokened themselves. Then after they clear, do it again! Then Red Robin can Running Shot Incap to double token them once more, and Batman can Running Shot Pulse Wave whichever one is a better target. And after they have to clear, Pulse Wave again.
Obviously that's a dream scenario, but speaking generally, free-action incap after being carried is a handy trick.
The Batman Family ATA is kind of overkill since this list doesn't have many Willpower problems. It does protect you against getting your Indom countered, so . . . that's a thing, I guess?
Map choice: Whatever you'd normally pick for a Batman list, depending on your opponent. Like, I've heard good things about Realm of Death, for example.
Anyway, not a super-original list but if you do happen to pick it, hopefully you'll enjoy playing it.

Between Super Skrull's ability to pick his powers and the wraith's leech power you will give you a lot of versatility. You can KO a character with SS to make a zombie or with the Wraith Queen to give your other wraiths some nice options. You have 4 probs and a ton of shape change. The book gives you the move and attack and attack buffs that can take this team to victory. For map: hindering will help your wraiths stay stealthed.
Edit: The wraiths have traited Precision Strike that will go well with the free quake from dropping hammers.
just out of curiosity does "exactly five figures" mean that one of your figures can not sprout bystander tokens or additional figures?
Just wondering if multiple man could be used and if his power would be ok, or if he couldn't use a multiply power unless another team mate had been KO'd

Your force must start with exactly 5 characters. Multiple man splitting mid-game and adding more characters would be fine.
