(I started this thread in the Themed Team section, but I'm not sure if I posted it to the wrong spot. That and I'm changing up from a themed idea so I thought I would re-post here. Mods, feel free to delete my other post.)
So, first and foremost, I am still relatively new to the game. I've not yet mastered team building but I am learning (a lot by studying this site). So if I post something that makes you scratch your head with "Why?", just keep that in mind.
Now, I'm considering a 300 point team for an upcoming game and anything can be used. I don't have a whole lot, but this was one thought I had for a team.
fi029 Colossus - 200 points
wol033 Sister Sercy - 66 points
avxR100 Phoenix Force - 18 Points
+ Fragment Colossus (Assigned to Sister Sercy) - 6 points
+ Magik Fragment (Assigned to Colossus) - 6 Points
Total: 296
My thought was to use the Colossus fragment to keep Sercy alive and in range of Colossus for support while Colossus wades in with the Magik fragment using poison and the Mystics team ability to start wreaking havoc.
It's very one-dimensional. If someone parks Banshee within six squares of him, he's going to be KO'd in a turn or two. He has no range. He has no way of dealing with Stealth. No Outwit. No Probability Control. He will be heavily out-actioned.
You don't HAVE to have all of the above, but they sure help your cause.

True, those things do make all the difference.
On the other hand, Sercy does have t/k, Perplex, and prob, which will help him a lot, either by getting him into the action or out of it. Plus, that particular Colossus likely won't be out-actioned in a 300 point game, because of his free extra Charge. And Sercy's one of the best support pieces in the game; maybe the best one for this scenario. Be sure to have plenty of objects lying around and things may turn out rather peachy.
So, correct me if I'm wrong as I'm just learning how to use resources, but if a fragment is left on the Phoenix Force base, can all of my team use it's ability if I declare as such at the beginning of the round? If so, I was thinking of using Namor as well to allow both Colossus and Sercy to use those three team abilities, since I have 4 points to spare, and leaving him on the Phoenix Force base.

yes you ar corect. if all of your assigned characters have a shard and there is at least one shard left on the phoenix force you can at the begining of your turn pick one of the ones left on the base and your whole team can use it.

Your point total for the Phoenix Force resource is off.
The Phoenix force is 12 points. Plus 3 for EACH fragment and plus another 3 for EACH clix assigned the resource. So if you want two fragments on two clix that's 12+3(fragment)+3(fragment)+3(assigned to colossus)+3(assigned to Sercy) = 12+3+3+3+3=24 points, not the 30 pts you calculated.
Since you had ten points left I might put on the rest of the fragments (3 more for 9 points total). That would make the total 299.

Holy crud, nice catch! I think I was doing my math by memory and thought it was 18 instead of 12.
That being the case I would definitely add the other two fragments.
That's one of my favorite bruisers in the game. Sercy is a royal pain. Yeah I like it. Ultra heavy to start and hope you don't miss. Besides as a newer player its good to hit up all build types and see what you prefer. A thought. Cyclops fragment on the base so sercy can blast.

Thanks. And that's actually the plan since I mis-calculated my values. The force is now:
fi029 Colossus - 200 points
wol033 Sister Sercy - 66 points
avxR100 Phoenix Force - 12 Points
+ Fragment Colossus (Assigned to Sister Sercy) - 6 points
+ Magik Fragment (Assigned to Colossus) - 6 Points
+ Namor Fragment (On Base) - 3 Points
+ Cyclops Fragment (On Base) - 3 Points
+ Emma Frost Fragment (On Base) - 3 Points
